I had a problem with a ring main it kept tripping out
The electician found a fault between 2 sockets so broke the ring as wires in wall and running under bathroom floor
The cable is 2.5
When i have my drier running and switch on kettle it trips out how can i change this
No idea about electrics

Thanks for everything am definitely going to reinstate ring main which
will be done between tenants
Could the ring main be fixed by trunking a cable between the 2 sockets they are both halfway up the wall
either side of back door
Could i check if ring will work by plugging into both sockets with a 2.5 cable or are the fuses all wrong

I presume it was a bigger fuse when it was ring to what i should have now on 2 radials and so it will be changed back when change back to ring
l am only thinking that he added another fuse not definite but moving kettle would not make a difference i presume if that was case

There's nothing inherently wrong with what your electrician has done, AS LONG as he has connected the two radials onto two separate MCBs, the split in the ring isn't too close to one end of the original ring, the abandoned section of the ring has been totally disconnected at both ends, and the original (presumably) 32A MCB has been replaced by a 20A one, along with a second 20A MCB for the 'new' circuit.
This will allow a higher load to be connected in the kitchen than before, but it will need to be distributed between the two radials.
A well designed RFC (ring) should have been arranged so that the expected significant loads were distributed so as to not load one half above the rating of the cable.

The way I’m reading it, there’s only one ring circuit with 23 points. If this is the one at fault, and it’s been split.... at the extreme there could be 1 point on one new radial and 22 off the other.

if question why the rcd test buttons haven’t been tested. Marked N/A

Ok there's something wrong there then as the schedule of test results just shows one circuit for sockets, no end to end results showing the circuit is no longer a ring and it's on a 30 amp breaker. Not great.
