I have a treadmill with a two-pin EU plug and 16Av but my house needs an Ireland 3 pin plug, is it safe to get an adapter and voltage converter, if so where could I source that? I have only ever used appliances with 13Av in my house before so I am unsure if it is safe, advice much appreciated, thanks

Already asked in post 6.
Yo, sorry.

But it wasn't so much the taping over I was concerned about, it's the overheating-verging-on-a-near-fire that has taken place

To be honest that CU looks long past its sell by date, I would hesitate to plug anything into it.
That is a rough looking board!
Probably should be condemned

Oh gosh thanks, I actually did not notice that. I think a few years ago there was trouble when the two power showers were used in the house at the same time so could have been that but must get it checked, is it a big job to get a new one?

Going by what is visible, the CU should have been replaced then.

Only the person who inspects and tests the existing installation can tell you how big a job it is to replace the CU.

If that's the spec they have given then I would be checking the quality of the product. Got any photos of it and and the spec plate?
