This is a very bad idea and totally non compliant with the regulations. An electric shower circuit should serve the shower only and nothing else. And there are many other reasons not to do it. Tell your bathroom fitter he's breaking the law by messing with bathroom electrics if he isn't suitably qualified and Part P registered. I hope all this doesn't sound too blunt but these 'jack of all trades' bathroom and/or kitchen fitters can be notoriously bad with electrics !

would i be right in saying i would like it wired to ceiling rose so it turns on with the light instead so if i use the bath and not shower it turns on thanks

That's right , but there should also be a maintenance isolator for the fan and the manufacturers instructions might also require a 3 amp fuse in line. Also a ceiling rose in a bathroom will often be non compliant now. I strongly recommend you find a decent electrician to help with this side of the work.

Blink and you miss it, there is a note at the beginning that states you must be competent and the work must be notified to building control.

strange, in the whole video I never saw any testing or certification so I am not sure how he has notified it.
