thanks for heads upYour going to need to upload the image again
thanks all. I guess I am an idiot
for my education, what aspect of it is dangerous – what is it missing?
It's highly doubtful that you will be able to purchase just a replacement cover for it. The whole thing would need replaced.thanks guys
fyi i found this in a rental and wasnt sure if they had been using it or not. i just moved in.
you will be horrified to know that before posting the pic i plugged it in and then plugged it out (after turning off the swtich)
if i want to replace it is that an easy job to get a new top or is it more the case that i need a whole new plug and cable
What do you think is missing, clue exposed front?thanks all. I guess I am an idiot

Are you serious, is this for real? I'm sure you have other 13A plugs that are complete so it must be pretty obvious what is missing, leaving live terminals exposed!for my education, what aspect of it is dangerous – what is it missing?
It's just a simple case of fitting a new plug to the existing flex.thanks guys

It won't matter as the replacement plug will come with all the required parts.thanks all. i understood the back was missing, just wasnt sure if anything internal was missing
That was part of how I ended up guessing a sandwich toaster, I think the plug was left on it while cooling down, hence the nice symmetrical shape. What the heck happened to that plug top , looks like someone has taken a multi-tool to it to create that near perfect V shape
Must be a wind up , Shirley

The socket was switched off, it would really hurt if the socket was on...This has to be a wind up!
You wouldn't even get that plug into a socket without physically pushing on the bare metal at the back of both the live and neutral pins.
you are not far off, it's a small george foreman grill, which I guess is very similar to a toasted sandwich maker?!Out of interest, I've been trying to decide what the appliance is. Is it a toasted sandwich maker?
