Hi all,

I just plugged in a (apparantly faulty) steamer, and all my plugs went off, but when I went to check out the consumer unit, everything was switched to "on" including both that are labelled "plugs down" and "plugs up"...... except this dial on the left which says "RCD connected circuits" above it....should I try turning it to "on"? I'm asking because the lights still work and I dont want to risk breaking anything as I'm

thanks in advance!

My pet hate........IT IS NOT PLUGS, THEY ARE SOCKETS. A plug is what is on the end of the cable of the appliance. You plug this into the socket. The socket is the thing on the wall, that the plug goes into. A plug is also someone who refers to a socket as a plug. If i came to your house, and you asked me to fit some extra plugs in your living room, then that is what i would do, and it would look bloody stupid.:90:

Cheers.................Howard:biggrin5:

on the same subject of hates, one of mine is " henry hoover " or "dyson hoover ". they are not made by hoover, so they are not bloody hoovers. they are vacuum cleaners, FFS.

quite simple - fit some extra PLUGS

Wall plugs, ear plugs, rawl plugs, if the customer shows me the colour of their money, I will fit any plugs they want!

Hmmmm......... Just had a thought....... B*tt plugs are out the question.

Thank you, what would be the advice for me to do in this scenario? I've also seen circuits tripped in past from other things such as 1500VA step...
