I said I dont understand the issue with the used but in great condition RCBO, you said it wont trip, I said why not, you said about the fly lead, I said you said that I said that you said...and thats what happened...

Did you test the mem rcbo at the outgoing terminals or at a socket? MEM rcbos can't be tested at the outgoing terminals for some reason, add a metre of cable and it should work

You are correct mate, MEM recommend that RCBOs have minimum ouput impedance equivilent to a metre cable otherwise the RCD tests can be unreliable.

Tried it at the RCBO and further away - which was up 2 flights of stairs. So are you suggesting adding a short piece of cable at the CU to test it??

there was a guy on one of my local Facebook pages recently selling half a bag of rocket, good for another 2 days!
got over 200 likes and 100 comments, but sadly never sold!
