Would find it amusing if it wasn't so dangerous

Are these all in the same house?

was it done by a "spark" or DIY Dave? I've seen some shocking things over the years but never upside down mcb's or a sideways ccu2000, but I have been called out to the aftermath of a 9kw shower wired in 2.5mm twin and it wasn't pretty

You'd have thought that the big red thingy at the end with the word "ON" would have given a clue. If he missed that there's always the "Hager" word on the MCBs themselves.
Sometimes I despair.

well the cooker iso can be replaced with a `vertical` one...

as for the dis-board...

went to do a condition report the other day....commercial (takeaway)...

so got in the cellar to find a couple of merlin gerin panels loaded up with multi9s....good start someone had taste i thought..

until i looked again to find the left bank of DB2 had three wylex MCBs at the top....wrong way round as it was the only way they could cram them in...they had distorted the enclosure whilst attempting to force the front on the panel...

so it failed on barriers & enclosures (fire and IP)...it also failed on the bases not being secure...and failed again on the fact that one of the wylex MCBs (32C) had 4 X 1.5 cables stuffed into it all feeding multiple loads......

oh and them four cables were new colours as well...

I know the rotated cooker isolator is a foul bodge, but purely by the regs would anyone call it a fail and if so on what reg? If so, could that be rectified by labelling the ON/OFF with labels that are horizontal?

Was this place completely rewired or were ccts just extended to the db? Can't see any blacks or reds anywhere. With all harmonised colours there should be at least one RCD in there.....but then again.......!

I think it's just the camera making the tails look silver Resu..

I had a blinder the other week,my mate's bought a tanning salon so I get dragged in to help him out, can't find the switch for the outside sign.Looked everywhere and nothing, went to the DB and there it was labelled up as front lights,a 63A yes 63A type D feeding a 1.0mm going to the sign!

TRAINEE TALKING:...at college, when we are learning something new (just lately pvc conduit / steel conduit) i made a mistake, i bent the pvc to quick, got a crease, was gutted, did it again,...looked great, carry that through to my home, and little jobs i do around it, painting and decorating, DIY etc,..pride in ones work (and common sense) should always win, i have trouble understanding how a job like this, this important, can be left looking so....well....complete and utter s**te....

how long does it take to smarten up cables, meet connections with insulation in terminals ....and....ANNND....not leave a void full of debris and looking like a quarry.

pride,...PRIDE IN ONES WORK!!

SAD
