    Electric screwdiver

I'm happy to go high quality, high cost merits assessment of it's attributes over the cheaper options though. Which is difficult when you can't exactly try them all out, and even if you could the benefits of the better kit often make themselves apparent with repeated usage, as do the downsides...

    Chint breakers

Tbh I wouldn't read much into the findings of a Chinese court in a domestic v. foreigner dispute! Weren't chint the brand that showed up about 20 years ago passing off mcbs that were a dead ringer for old merlin gerin mcbs, I remember a wholesaler trying to convince me they were MK items with...

    Electric screwdiver

Anyone use one? Been diagnosed with (mild) carpol tunnel so looking to de-strain as much as one can. I've sometimes used an impact driver for repeat actions such as unwind and sometimes partly assemble consumer units (milwaukee have a gentle finger-tight setting on them) but figure the right...

Help picking a new SDS battery drill - Day 3

Fuel is a brushless high output motor. I've got both the fuel and regular multi tools and the difference is remarkable. Wouldn't have the basic on anything. The fuel tools also liven up under high demand when used with the high output batteries

Help picking a new SDS battery drill - Day 3

Another vote for both the biggerest and the littlerest ones, for the pluggin & the wreckin. Also Still have a 230 for sustained use, lighter and I don't care what they claim with regards to the power of today's battery kit, 230 trumps.

BG Split load board 18th edition compliant?

Personally I think the diversity and max demand are crude to the point of absurdity much of the time. I've got big houses with 30+ circuits, 8 or more ring circuits that are "non compliant" according to any max demand calc method - what's the solution - join all the rings into 2 big ones? One...

Dodgy trade pictures for your amusement! - 1 Million Views!

Both the work of the same in-DERR-vi-"jewell" First note element top right corner. Told it had to be this way as c/h pipes use bottom. Probably expected me to sellotape a longer flex to reach the plate below... Told client to buy him a duel entry fitment and call me back. 600w element...

24 module DB to include 16 MCBs

I'm not arguing, I want to understand why some arrive at different conclusions to myself and some amount of disagreement is inherent; there's no reason why we can't agree to disagree on what are ultimately nuances while still respecting anothers knowledge though. (That goes for a lot in the...

    Connectors for T&E to Singles.

Does it really actually need earth sleeving inside the tube? I know it feels a bit bodgy but what's going to happen and isn't an unbroken conductor nicer?

24 module DB to include 16 MCBs

I've been fitting Hagar inc. SP RCBOs for at least 10 years and I'm fairly hard nosed when it comes to pricing so that differs from my experience... Although I did cheat and fit a number of Schneider boards for a bit for reasons I can't recall so that could well have been price related Also I...

    Thanks for that🍻

24 module DB to include 16 MCBs

Hugely overpriced? Compared to what? RCBOs are 15 or so and I see only budget brands below that Don't do much 3ph but do have a couple coming up and it's hard to look past Hager - have a dim view of the electrium stuff and mem and schneider escalate the price - what is it they're lacking out...

Impact and ingress rated wiring acessories?

Does anyone make anything that ticks both? Have a bakery with some metalclad sockets and spurs that are covered in mank but plastic flap outdoor sockets would get smashed up

    FP200 3 phase rating?

Oh, I was under the impression fp had different ratings, think I was confusing it with that "refer to manufacturer" SY stuff, thanks All I need now is zs for MG 60947-2s, which you think would be easily accessible info wouldn't you

24 module DB to include 16 MCBs

Maybe just my experiences are anecdotal but I've found that many BG RCDs out of spec while doing EICRs I carry a spare. Odd as most of their stuff is fine, fitted billions of their sockets etc, the grey inserts on steel is a nice look. TBF Hagar is all I want to fit these days, hardly anyone...

    FP200 3 phase rating?

Sorry should have been clearer but I'm looking for a current carrying capacity; the tables I've observed all state DC or 1P AC
