    Many thanks to all of you for your quick response! I will get an electrician in to look at it. Just wanted to clarify that it is probably the switch that is the problem. It will remain strictly in the "off" position until resolved! Very much appreciate your advice - thank you.

    My immersion heater wall switch gets hot when switched on. Water heats OK but switch gets hot. So, until I know what is causing this, I obviously don't use it. Any advice most welcome pls!
