    Sy cable question

In answer to question 2: The backbox doesn't need to be earthed as you have 2 fixed lugs that the faceplate screws into. However its always good practice to run an earth strapper from the FCU to the backbox. Personally, I Connect the braid to earth but not to be used as an earth, as it can't...

Simplified S-Plan and Y-Plan Wiring diagrams

I know it's not a borrowed neutral, the title says "Simplified". I am trying to draw as little on the diagram so it's easier for people to follow and understand how the systems work and what each component needs. The numbers are there purely for an aid to other people using the diagram. I...

    My Christmas Present

They do price match, however they require a link to a website with the deal. Since it's my local wholesaler doing me a really good deal that's not on their website, I doubt they would match it. I will email them and see what they say.

    Finishing Apprenticeship, what next?

Short term I would like to be on the tools for a good few years, get some more experience on the job. Once I have the experience I would love to design big installations, but not full time. I hate the thought of being stuck behind a desk. Maybe time will change that hahah As for the 2394/5 Yes...

    AM2 exam

No can do, because your installation will be different to the one I had. You are allowed guidance note 3 If you need it to assist you in filling out the cert. Have a read through: AM2 - http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk/threads/am2.117118/ Any more questions, just ask :)

    Finishing Apprenticeship, what next?

This is something I think I would enjoy doing, I have done some basic networking and switch setups in the past, however this is something my local college doesn't support so I will need to look into where I can do this. Thanks for the suggestion :)

    My Christmas Present

Evening all, I got asked what I want for Christmas this year by my mum, so I thought long and hard about what I wanted, and it's got to be a new tester ;) I got a quote from my local supplier for a new Kewtech KT65DL and it was £670 INC VAT so I will put a load of money towards it. Has anyone...
