Right ... Just been nudged to set this up by Paul.M and sounds a good idea following recent threads I've done in the Arms..

I've seen this sort of s..t loads of times, its a case of the builder/plasterer can't be arsed to contact you about disconnecting the cables so they can be passed through the appropriate grommet holes (assuming the connector block was on before they installed the back box)
 
Wondered what the other light switch was for in the hallway. Looked in the porch and there it was! Double socket fed from the 1.5mm feed which presumably fed a wall light originally. Also, only one fixing screw, no grommet, and thin flex to the socket itself. Lovely. Daz

I didn't think it worth mentioning about the broken socket but good point yes. The plug that was plugged into this also didn't have sleeved live and neutral pins - just to top things off :) Daz
