    Im a bit confuddled now. Im convinced what i looked at wasnt any type of rcd but obviously you guys are correct in saying a main switch would have to be physically operated and that it wouldnt 'trip' as such. Eager to get back and have a better look. Will post update incase any1 remains...

    Not sure who did the rewire. Cannot get any info off them though as the client wont pay them due to the fact that the original problem still persists

    No murdoch not mA. The main switch on the board is rated 100A. This operates aswell as the rcbos. I agree i havnt given enough to go on. Will be going back so will get some snaps etc. Apparantly the rewire was down to the current problem. Obviously the problem was never solved.

    3 seperate rings across the rcbos. My concern was the lights. Quite a few fittings on main shop floor. Im not positive of what type. Plug n play type transformers.     Board is in a locked cupboard. Not clamped as yet. Didnt have 1 handy today. Small charity shop. Tbh nothing heavy loadwise. Usual stuff till p.c. Small kitchen. Intermittent tripping apparantly. Not always every rcbo but a good number and most times the main switch aswell

    Was getting continuity across contacts with door shut. Would this be normally shut? Not much help im afraid. Very rarely deal with alarms. Mainly reactive stuff at moment
