Using Dilog DL6507 earth leakage clamp meter.

Evening all, I've just brought a Dilog DL6507 Earth leakage clamp meter. Got to get used to using it, but does anyone know what the on/off switch on the side does, as it does not do as you would think. Cheers.

Your method of handling non paying customers?

Yep, they take a percentage. Depends on who you deal with as to what percentage. Generally not worth it for small amount of money, but the threat is usually enough.

    Cooker circuit and diversity.

Evening all. Customer needs a new oven and electric hob. The current setup is 6mm T+E on 32A MCB, RCD protected, about 8M run, reference method 100. The oven they are looking at is 10.5KW. I initially thought that was too much but after adding diversity it seems ok. Are my calculations ok as I...

    Magic switch

As far as I could see from the pictures he showed me yep a normal switch. The earth bar was connected to the neutral at main switch, then only a 2.5 mm cable was going to switch with main neutral also going to switch. Didn't get to see it first hand. Don't know how it didn't blow.

    Magic switch

Has anyone else come across what the police called a magic switch. A friend who rented out his flat found one when he evicted tenant who was growing special plants. I won't say how they done it, but they bypassed the meter and put in a normal light switch in between meter and cu so could choose...

    extending down light circuit

I've been asked to add a few led downlights to an existing circuit. There's no access from above as all new wooden floors in bedroom. I usually cut holes in ceiling to get to joists to run cables in and iv got to go through at least 5 joists. Just wondering if there are any less destructive...

    Lighting spur off a ring

This is just a 'not sure' why question. when spurring off a ring circuit for a small light circuit, why does it have to be fused down to 3 or 5 amp. Why can't you use 2.5mm cable instead as the mcb is protecting the cable. Is it because most switches are only designed for the lower ampage...

Armoured cable into building below ground - how should hole have been ducted / sealed

Is the hole under dpc, is there void under floor, unless it's gone through dpc layer damp shouldn't be rising into the wall. How far away is hole from damp area. Think more likely condensation problem, it generally happens in corners.
