Yeap, similar here..

I may know a little about them, but only cos the missus has the free reign of the remote. I'm banished to the office these days. If I look over my shoulder I can see the tellybox, but she had a program on there earlier with a woman legs open pushing a gremlin out. I've seen enough of that - and...
I have never heard of them tbh.
Most of the course information they have is correct, and the course duration is similar to other training providers.
The course fee seems very cheap, so I would be interested in your feedback if you do go with them.
It sounds like you have a realistic understanding of the whole mess.
Only additional advice I could say would be to check with some of your local potential clients - landlords, local authorities etc. They may have their own stupid policy stating that they only offer to tender the work to NICEIC...
I have some singles I carry around already labelled up, some with thermosetting and some with thermoplastic, as the thickness can be confusing.
If all else fails, just put 4mm.
Hello there,
2365 is theory based, so you will want to make sure your electrician understands your beginner level and hopefully gives you work that will help you develop if you are planning on training so quickly.
TS4U are a very professional setup (I am not affiliated with them) and they will...
Hi all.
A former colleague of mine (I also call him Dad now and then) who successfully runs a training organisation - not a Electrical Trainee one - is running a 17th edition course this coming week.
The course will be held at a full time college in the Maidenhead area (Berkshire) this coming Thursday...
They create loopholes in what was originally a very good idea.
The problem isn't so much the companies, it's the accreditors that support the idea, such as C&G and EAL.
EAL have gone one further recently by announcing that they are creating simulations and assessment specs so that training...
They are one of the most aggressive business' in getting PAT work.
Another scheme they are running is to look at the PAT company details for competitive locations simply by looking at the labels, they then call the customers prior to the retest. Then over the phone they explain how the prior...
A competent and vocationally skilled assessor should prepare you for assessment effectively. Two examples of evidence for each criteria need to be collected and reviewed. If the assessor prepares you properly then he can carry out a holistic assessment - in other words achieve massess of...
Switching two 400W halogen lamps instantaneously could put a 6A type B over the edge with in-rush.
If the Zs value allows it, try changing to a type C, alternatively see if yo can switch the floods individually.
I know. I am thinking about maybe starting a facebook group or something similar over christmas. Just somewhere that the numbers can collect and become more representative.
Any ideas?
It was looked into and the problem was that there had to be an opportunity or gap that needed filling. If it was concluded that the new scheme would not result in filling a currently unaccounted-for skill or area then it needn't be considered.
It would also take 18 months of going backwards and...
The whole issue of the 5 week wonder has been approached, unfortunately the competent person schemes have chosen to completely ignore the new qualifications and instead are taking it upon themselves to let people in and then assess them. This is a huge conflict of interest.
The NICEIC are still...
You need no testing certs to be considered competent. Many have the certs with no competence at all.
Problem is the competent person schemes lean toward them to prove competence.
The 1700 series has a much improved display, that's about it.
With regard to the quantity on certain auction sites, there are a lot of people buying these instruments trying their hand at sparking without the competence to use them.
They buy all the equipment, but when they realise they can't...
