Hi murdoch. Have already asked them to keep a log. Man of the house is onto it, said he had a notebook that would be just the job. No thunder or lightning or local road works etc.. Thanks for replies watch this space..

Hi Murdoch. Yep have a clamp meter / tong type , not been asked to go back as yet as its only tripped once. They asked me why it would happen , I'm not too sure so thought I would ask those more learned than myself.

Hi handy sparks. Thanks for the reply
Boiler switches off at 9 and rcds tripped at 10.30 so can't be that, fridge and freezer are on same circuit so only one rcd would trip. Just very strange they both went at same time
There is a time clock on each circuit but them both to fault at same time...
Dear all
Wonder if anyone can enlighten me
I've just changed a board to a dual rcd board. TT system with ze of 100 ohms
All circuits test ok and everything fine for 2 days . Had a call to say that while the customer was out ( so nothing in use) both rcds tripped at same time , they know this as...
Hi Murdoch. I had one very similar a couple of weeks ago and NICEIC went along same lines as you. Install a plastic fitting, Issue cert , sticker the board stating which circuit is involved and back it up with a covering letter. Arse covered.
You can't second guess everyone all the time...
One more question, what would be an acceptable frequency for retest of the cabin. Bearing in mind it's full of builders I would think monthly but is that overkill ?? ( no pun intended). Cheers

Hi thanks for the replays. There is no earth rod. I'm guessing from davidonp's reply it is floating frame so I guess I just note that on NICEIC cert. Cheers

Saw this in pro electrician and am unsure what's wrong. I know I'm sticking my head over parapet here but what's wrong in the photo
Thought it may be that the L. and N have been swapped but didn't think that would matter. Mostly use Hagar boards and they say it's ok

Hi Ruston
I was tempted with those bits first time I used them to drill concrete the tip melted off. Lesson leaned
Sent back but had to fight for a refund
Morning all
I've seen this question before but no real answer
Anyone know why I can't get the electricians forum app on my iPad
I have it on my phone so why not the iPad
