    still a few good old school spreaads about. did a job last year and on return found every sunken box had been neatly trimmed of all excess plaster by the spreads labourer. there again they were both about 60!!!!!

    Re: Tell us about your faults ! yep know the feeling was testing a property on monday . no continuity on one of the ring mains was a bungalow so traced to the area of break and went up in loft to find one end of the ring in mid air with ends stripped . been like that for 25 years!

    chocie box/ heat resistant flex out to the light . no flamin cpc twisting :mad: see D/L wired direct to t&e , usually the ones that stick out due to the stiffness of the cable pushing on em ,total rubbish and no need!:D

    if you have a list of known defects then just sort them . from what you describe its not a big deal. few blank bushes ,sleeving and a possible rcbo or 2 just do it. don't get drawn into a ******* contest there will be no winners. classic sour grapes cos ya nicked "HIS" work.

    yep connecting a convection oven usually around 2kw and a hob to a 32amp mcb protected bit of 6mm t&e without a 13amp fused spur on said oven ain gonn cut the mustard in my book.]

    Earth rod

    i would be happier if i found out were the end connection was. had a suspicious one last week which we dug out ,good reading but was found to be connected onto copper pipe buried in ground feeding the garage tap ! new rod to tick the box.

    resin for box fixing, you guys must have more money than sense. plaster board adhesive ,mix with water slap it on stick box in it. no screws required. trust me is as good as **** to a blanket. 3hours cure new bag or old opened bag 20mins cure. guess which one i use:rolleyes:

    if i've got a lot of boxes in a row i rough kango out all holes for em then get a nice straight bit of wood 2x1 usually fixed at each end level then mix me old fav mature plaster board bonding and and push em all into it. battern makes perfect level shelf for em all to sit on while drying, quick...
