I have had a Halfords pro set for about 10 - 15 years and it has been good as gold and has been used for all sorts, due to losing bits out of it over the years last weekend I brought 2 new Halfords Pro Socket Sets(as they were on offer), 1/4 drive set for £15 which was reduced from £30 and a...
To leave a job like that I am guessing that he is no spark?
why would anyone take on a job changing a d/b without a clue to what they were doing? and then having the balls to charge £800 ????
must be a prime contender for rougue traders.
I would probably fit a fire hood and leave well alone,
I have seen lots of 50w gu10s and mr16 fittings near touching joists and they have been fine, not what I would do nor recomend doing but if the holes are already cut and ceiling decorated you options are a bit limited.
Hi Mate, I have a martindale veritest 2240 and really like it, It does everything I need it to do, but as you said when doing a non trip loop test you always get a reading of 1 ohm so I dont use it for that and instead use a robin kmp non trip loop tester for non trip loop tests.
Also if you buy...
I think it would be better removed as some of them bath and shower panels are quite fragile should you ever need to get to them you don`t want to risk damaging the panels, And as you have 30mA rcd protection on the ring cant really see the point of them.
Not sure why they would fit a 13A plug on stuff like this? the mind boggles.
I would not think twice about removing the plugs.
I have fitted lots of spa baths and I tend to spur off the ring with a switched fused connection unit, if no rcd protection on ring fit a rcd spur(powerbreaker) or the...
The Bosch Multi Construction TCT Drill bits are goodfor drilling tiles, I have used them before for doing what you say by chain drilling around the edge then gently joining the holes, time consuming but does keep the dust to a minimum .
A 4 inch grinder will be quicker and give a neater cut if...
The current breakers that are being sold in screwfix and the like are different to the ones in the link that I posted.
The current ones being sold with the fly leads comming from the top will not fit the quickline 2 boards or a least I could not get them to fit when I tried
Cheers...
I tried to get hold of some Square D rcbos to fit the older boards this year and had a nightmare:mad:.
I think these are the ones for the older boards. Square D | Electrical Installation | Consumer Units | RCBO's Consumer Unit | Square D Quickline ll Incoming and Outgoing devices |SQOR132B03
I would sooner drill the holes first, get the dusty jobs over with and its easier to patch in the board before its been skimmed if for some reason you made a bo bo :o
I keep thinking about buying a snake camera too, I will do one day when I am a bit flush I bet it will be one of these tools that once you have one in the van you probably wont want to go to a job without it.
I use the tape measure & Chalk line method for setting out downlights and cut the holes before the boards have been plastered.
Plasterers seem to get on ok as long as the wires are tucked away.:)
I have a pair of rothenberger ratchet cutters, I think they are for intended for speedfit pipe but they cut pvc really well.:)
From memory they were about £15 - £20.
