WARNING old Style Wylex Breakers (not Plug ins)

Sounds very scarey and I'm surprised that this hasn't come to light before. Are they all rated the same ampage? possibly a bad batch? or maybe ring circuits supplied from 2 separate breakers?Sounds unbelievable sorry.:(

    Permanent live to a boiler

I suppose you would need to see the full set up,but maybe at the board the two circuits could be put into one breaker to keep it all on one circuit, then at least the whole lot could be isolated there in one go.

    3 phase voltages

just in case you were wondering your voltage peak level is calculated by multiplying your rms by sq root of 2 so for 230volt your peak is about 325volt:)

    Permanent live to a boiler

Hi Ian, I recon your easiest way out would be to ensure that you have volt free contacts at the timeclock/programmer,then take out the link, then arrange it so that your t&e going to boiler would be your switchwires(COMING from and going back to boiler)instead of your neutral which...

    continuity of cpc

I think the furthest light,as it would be the extremity of the circuit. As for your r1,r2 readings, when my meter leads are short circuited it shows 00.0 and open circuit 1(scale to 200) What readings do you get on megohm scale.(I think you meant to say switch is open)

What do i need to make this?

I'm no electronics expert, but the way I read it gnd=0volt-----the negative of battery. But perhaps the drawing is suggesting 0v and 5-9volt and signal connections are derived from computer.?

    difference in Hz different country

I recon you would be best trying to contact the technical support of your stove's manufactor.Perhaps a240/110 transformer could be used if you needed dual voltage.I still however don't think the frequency (Hz) will be a problem.Good luck.

    Re:12Kw Electric Flow Boiler

Re: 12Kw Electric Flow Boiler Its unlikely you would need screened cable in a simple domestic situation. The sensors probably are 8-12volt.You can get small bore screened cable about the size of phone wire,or you could use screened fire alarm cable(with the foil in it)If you REALLY wanted. Or...

What do i need to make this?

eeh, the gnd and little symbol mean ground(0v)aka earth D diode R resistor TR transistor ic1 integrated circuit (microchip) vr variable resistor c capacitor v volts However if you havn't got the basics why are you even attempting ?

    difference in Hz different country

Hi, You haven't mentioned what voltage you have there at your premesis in fiji. But as for your frequency difference,it should only effect your clock{if you have one}.Your carefully timed curry may be a little burnt, but there should be no other safety issues provided your electrician...

    Re:12Kw Electric Flow Boiler

Re: 12Kw Electric Flow Boiler I had a look at that link there and it appears to me that all controls come from the boiler,so you shouldn't need another way.I'd go for 16mm split conc. as I don't like useing T&E over 6mm.I also see that the link talks about optional extra relays for use in...

    wiring in stables (advise please)

no no,if it IS pir controlled. If you want something brighter you have to really go up to sodium.(lamps with greater efficacy than 40 lumens per circuit watt). This applies to new builds as well as refurbs.Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for you,but I don't make the rules up.I've got a feeling...

    wiring in stables (advise please)

Hi, not sure what you're on about here regarding 1.5 over 80m?Surely you have the same length of circuit to consider,so 6mm again?---I'm not sure if you just want to switch the floodlight or the other lights too?But if you just wanted to switch the floodlight alone to save having to do 2 runs of...

    r2 readings too high?

hi S, maybe this will help-(you could use crimp lugs to determine size.) I think this is from GN1 values resistance of copper at 20 oC mohm/m (move decimal point 3spaces to get ohm/metre) 1mm----18.10 1.5mm--12.10 2.5mm---7.41 4mm-----4.61 6mm-----3.08 10mm----1.83 16mm----1.15
