    Electrak - no RCBOs

We have a customer in a large office block with all power in the building fed from an Electrak plug in busbar system. Lots of desks, lots of computers. Noticed none of the track is on an RCD/RCBO but they’re wanting some of the floor boxes relocated. Would this fall under the remit of needing...

Flat twin cable with sheathed CPC.

I’m sure I’ve seen an LSF round cable used on sites before as well with an insulated earth. Not flex, something a bit more substantial but not FP either, didn’t seem to have the outer sheath where you can sort of score then bend slightly to make to snap and strip (if that makes sense)

Flat twin cable with sheathed CPC.

What are the alternatives with the sheathed earth?

Flat twin cable with sheathed CPC.

Would probably buy this depending on price. Can get quite annoying trying to put 3mm sleeving on long lengths of stripped earth when making off a 24TP distribution board

Is the main fuse big enough?

Sorry, it’s a proposed installation so neither of those options would be possible until the install is actually complete by which time it would be too late if it’s too much.

Is the main fuse big enough?

    Don’t have one unfortunately

Is the main fuse big enough?

Approximately half of that is for air conditioning, other half being for refrigeration which are unlikely to all run at the same time, at least not all of the time, may coincidentally run at the same time every so often. From experience shouldn’t be a problem but always a bit reluctant to say...

Is the main fuse big enough?

Hello Shop with a 100A main fuse LED lights few amps max, cash tills, cash machine, roller shutter, auto door, nothing pulling much power but there are 5 motors totalling 80.5A FLA Realistically what sort of power would this site be pulling constantly? Slightly conecerned that it may be...

    Emergency Lighting Certification

Hello Got a customer who needs certification for a monthly emergency lighting test. What would be the best cert to provide them with? The NICEIC certs all seem to relate to an annual test. Thanks

    Quotation Dilemmas

Thanks for the reply. I always stick to the price given, was just wondering whether people would tend to offer alternative methods or have their one way of doing things and that’s it.

    Quotation Dilemmas

Struggling a touch at the minute with customers getting work done by “someone they know” and citing our quotations being too expensive as the reason for not going with us. Visit the sites afterwards and find the standard of work being terrible which obviously isn’t an option for us as a way to...

TT Install with Solar - RCD question

Thanks for the reply. Noted about omitting the 30mA RCDs, will look at purchasing 4pole 30mA RCDs and a larger enclosure to house those and our proposed SPD. Do you have experience with those solar energy units? Done a bit of Google’ing and can’t find anything on them. There are 3 of them so...

Bonding Size for Old Incoming Supply

investigated a little bit more today and noticed a piece of metal connected externally to the incoming head which was bolted to some copper earth tape going up into the cabinet. The earth tape has a sticker on advising “Earthing Terminal PMS System” Still couldn’t decipher what size the...

Bonding Size for Old Incoming Supply

Can’t really tell as the cable goes straight into the cabinet. Doesn’t look to be TT as there are no overhead lines in the area. Just trying to give as much info as I know as possible, apologies if that troubled you 😬
