Just as Richard Burns says, I carry an inch or two of the most usual sized cables in my meter box to help me assess the cable type when I do CU changes or anything else for that matter.
This is clearly a situation where you have the circuit in question (whole or partially) without earthing and it means that you should only use double insulated class II equipment on such circuits. If in doubt seek help from an electrician.

Just bought a Rechargeable Hand Torch from Lidl and in my opinion it's good value for the money and far better than the ones from B&Q or Wickes. Would be useful in lofts or any dark corners.

That's the nightmare. I opened all the sockets and there wasn't any visible clue. It's a TNS system and the strange thing is, if I touch the neutral bar with the neutral of one of the legs, the other RCD trips (alarm bell rings - possibly a borrowed neutral)
