The photo shows the other wires going to a switch mounted on the cover, does this switch have a label or do you know what it is used for? The other wire is jointed to the black cable to something else on the unit, is there another switch on that black 2 core cable or something else?
The problem with Pyro cable is it is now so expensive it is now mostly reserved for special applications. Then you add glands, seal kits, special back boxes, special lugs etc. A shame as I used to really enjoy working with it.
I do have a few full reels home here for my own uses though.
What's the minimum bending radius for 4H4 MICC again?
Another view, the other end of these cables is very nicely installed and I can only assume this end was once. It hurts seeing stuff like this. There is no excuse, especially as these are all metric cables with new pots and glands readily...
I also see the cables have just been chopped off at the neutral bar instead of unbolting the lug, how lazy.
Saw the same thing today on some isolators where the load had been removed.
I would expect there to be pressure applied to some part of that cutout for it to snap open and closed correctly. It looks to me like it is already in the 'on' position but the contact is open due to something not pushing on a certain part of it from the other side. Is it pushed in by something...
I did want to save these from a recent job but they were confiscated by the asbestos police. I was particularly interested in the right hand one with an enclosure design I've not come across before. The wiring here is old and it was clear these were both second hand when they were installed...
The 2 inputs are separate and there should be no interlinking between SL1 and2 If there is there has to be a wiring error or a fault with the unit. IIRC the inputs are both opto isolated so any internal interlinking between the 2 should be impossible. Check your wiring carefully again.
It's been years since I've fitted a dual RCD board, RCBOs all the way now. I also went to a new build recently and the certificate for the property didn't match the installation at all. Though that was the least of the problems with the wiring.
Not the easiest things to test, but if the light is on there is power getting somewhere. Check the thermostat is not set to off, I'd next check for power to the compressor. The start relay/thermistor might be faulty, the compressor might have become stuck from lack of use a few bops with a...
I guess it's normally only really worth while for larger things. It's much easier to run 2x 150mm2 4 core SWAs than 1x 300mm3 SWA for example. The cable costs are higher buying 2 cables but if it saves a lot of effort or the routes are difficult for stiff cables it is worth it. On a smaller...
^It should do, as it has separate output relays, multiples are designed to be connected together without problems. You need more than 3 cores to the zone valve though. The floor pumps should be connected to the pump terminals in the UH4 and the main pump should run with the boiler.
Do you have...
Facebook is a joke, I don't use it very much, just for some fire/security type groups. If I 'like' more than 3 things in a day my account gets restricted for 24 hours. Total Shyte.
Depending on the size of the downlight hole you may be able to fit a circular dry lining box, these have standard fixing spacings for installing a pendant.
