Anyone got a digital copy of codebreakers

They do, it’s called best practice guide from electrical safety first, both of these are on the panel who write it.

‘Trendy’ to mount kit on strut for no other reason?

As said it’s good for damp environments to keep switch gear off the walls but other than that.........

    Verifying water bonding

Just note it in the comments section and that you have carried out as far as reasonably practicable testing to verify that the water pipe has a relatively low resistance to earth. What else can you do?

    Spurring of a spurred socket

Because bs 7288 says they are not suitable for additional protection hence why they were removed.

Using plastic glands on a metal board...arrggg

Please with the fire rating malarkey, it’s irrelevant, it’s no different to installing a mains tails gland, the IP rating of the CU needs to be maintained, that’s it.

Should internal links in consumer units be double insulated where TT earthing is present

In what way ? I’ve never seen an rcbo board with an RCCB as a main switch

Should internal links in consumer units be double insulated where TT earthing is present

No it’s a main switch with rcbo’s or dual rccb’s with an S type upfront is what they mean, ( I think). Not very clear but that would make more sense.

Should internal links in consumer units be double insulated where TT earthing is present

Taken from Hager’s CU instructions TNC-S, TN-S when installed in an electrical installation complying with BS 7671 Hager recommends for TT systems a 100A type S time delayed RCCB or a main switch with RCBO protection only on all outgoing circuits.

UK Bathroom scenario, what's your opinion.

    No bother Pete

UK Bathroom scenario, what's your opinion.

If supplementary bonding is required then each circuit serving the location is required to have a connection between the cpc terminals of any class 1 and class 2 accessories/equipment and to any accessible extraneous pipework, water etc. Wilko’s picture explains.

    Pulling cutout fuses

On the cast iron cut out query, Clients in my experience have basically said that they can’t afford the down time in having one changed where the premises is 24hr occupied so they never get it replaced, now whether or not the DNO have insisted it’s changed as it’s their equipment , I don’t know.

UK Bathroom scenario, what's your opinion.

Yes each circuit is required to connected together

UK Bathroom scenario, what's your opinion.

If supplementary bonding in a bathroom is applicable then Bathroom supplementary bonding needs to connect together the terminals of the protective conductor of each circuit supplying class 1 and class 2 equipment and to the accessible extraneous conductive parts (water pipes etc) or if there’s...

    Verifying polarity on radial ccts

It will if aided by a visual inspection but obviously you do not want to be removing every thing on the circuit

    Verifying polarity on radial ccts

    Except on ring final circuits?

    Verifying polarity on radial ccts

The cpc should be tested at each point of the circuit for initial verification
