To start with are the 2 other cables live or just cables going down stream to other receptacles. Wiring a GFCI receptacle on the back side it should have a line and load, the line is where the 120vac live cable connects and the load is down stream. Sounds like it’s possibly wired wrong, the...
My friend all appliances have to have their own circuit. As far as plugging multiple plugs into a receptacle like you said that they are wired in series. Having said that you have the 1 particular receptacle that has multiple plugs in it and other receptacles probably have something plugged into...
You should be able to add a 50 amp double pole breaker but it would have been better if you took a picture of the actual panel. I’m guessing that you could use small tandem breakers.
On a 3 phase Delta system you don’t have a neutral on the primary side of your transformer. I have worked in a lot of plants with a 3 phase delta system and if something goes to ground it will not blow a fuse or trip a breaker. That’s why most plants with a delta system they usually have 3...
You are correct that it is not a nuisance tripping issue. If it was working on a GFCI circuit then why change it. By code you protect all laundry room it is required to be by a GFCI breaker or receptacle not AFCI protection. Since it’s gas operated it could be detecting the igniter or seloniod...
As westward10 stated the red wire is using the back stab and there is no release so the wire has to be cut. Back stabs should be outlawed for the reason of creating a lot of problems. Normally on a 3 way switch you will have a 3 conductor cable with a ground and usually the red is the traveler.
Sorry for the delay but you have to have a means of disconnect for appliances. Hard wiring it is not an option because it has to be moved to ever work on it
The best thing that I can tell you is it’s supposed to be GFCI protected at all times. Even if you convert it to 12vdc will still have to be GFCI protected also. Good luck
The transfer switch seems normal and that’s the 12vdc to active the transfer switch. That’s confusing on the other end but are they not a wiring diagram somewhere on the equipment. A picture would be helpful of a wiring diagram.
I have my masters in NC an Florida but if you start looking up big electrical contractors I'm sure you could get a job as supervisor. Have you thought of starting your own business.
I’ll never understand why they mounted it that particular place. It looks like you probably can’t take the cover off which is a code violation and you need 36 inches in front of the disconnect with no obstructions. It looks like the company is not going to take responsibility. Hire an...
I really don’t see why you can’t do that. So have your electrician to take loose the wiring that the solar person did for you. He can now come off the last smoke detector in that circuit and add the heat sensor.
Honestly look at the double pole 4 wire receptacle on the generator because I think that it just has a 30 amp circuit. Anyway # 6 copper wire is good for 50 amps and I’m going to say I would use # 8 for 30 amps even though # 10 is also good for 30 amps but you don’t want a voltage drop. Good...
