Got to a job today only to find out as well as a test I needed to do some remedial works to the board as the company we had subcontracting to us had made a state of it. Have come across a few of their bits of handy work, they say a plastic board is a c2 and then change it and management were...

    Beware the Facebook electrician

My thought exactly. I was feeling very awkward as whilst disconnecting it all she kept crying. I was gobsmacked that someone would charge that for that!! Even done properly by someone reputable it wouldn't come close to that

    Beware the Facebook electrician

Went to do an EICR today. The woman was telling me they'd found a guy on Facebook who came done some downlighters and the false cielings. All for the low low price of £3500. ?? Needless to say it wasn't worth anywhere near that. All dogged off the pendants in flex which had been covered with...

Well my company isn't part of the JIB but we have electrician rates and approved electrician rates. I got my 2391 back in January this year but will only be qualified for 2 years cone January 2021. This affects me and another colleague and they keep spouting the business with the 2 years but we...

    2391 and approved title

hi guys So I've been told that if you get your 2391 quals before you've been qualified for 2 years you have to wait for the 2 years since qualifying to get the title of being an approved electrician? Is this across the board or just for companies registered with the JIB?

    Something just doesnt feel right

Mate you got me confused now ?? He was up and running when I got there. I presume it works with the fact the neutrals share the same connection on the main switch??

    Something just doesnt feel right

I took the cover off. That meter is still in use. Don't fret though I isolated the supply to everything in the flat from the original MEM switch in the main building and proved dead. Fly lead???

    Something just doesnt feel right

Would you code it or make a note?? It comes from a cut out fuse in another part of the building which goes to an old meter this then feeds an mem switchgear from here goes the swa to the adaptable box that you see.
