Hi guys week after next I have my 2391 and was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to expect, tips, links to websites that might help or any links to any other threads. Cheers guys
Quickly popped round yesterday and did a quick IR of the first CU was getting some funny readings. Disconnected everything and would test N-E on circuits and would get less than 1. But 2 minutes later these same circuits would all clear....
Hi guys
Been called to a doctors house recently....you know the type that have plenty of money but want to hold off on shelling out.
Intermittent rcd tripping. Quite a dated installation, large house 17 circuits and all protected by a 30ma rcd.
Went to ramp test and it tripped straight...
I get just over £150 extra for the week just to be on standny. plus 1.5 for call outs last call or the only call is 2 hours unless regardless so if you do half an hour you'll get two hours unless you go over then obviously you get the hours you did. Double time for sundays and for anything...
My firm used to have to outsource to outside contractors to rewire some properties...some existing and some new builds. A.bennetts were the worst offedners. Came across one yesterday on the cert they put they used 25mm for tails...so why am i staring at 16mm T+E??
Sockets...that aren't actually...
Surely its whichever is more convenient at the time of testing surely?? Why are people so aggressive about this? If you're already in the board just check it at the device...if not just plug it in. Stop being girls about this....
This is why i love my job. Whenever i do periodics any c1 or c2 or any other problems im told to rectify them there and then or make safe and go back the following day.....also means when i come across D.I.Y daves shoddy electrical work they have no choice but to watch me disconnect and rip it out.
The property its at...any communal lighting. I work in social housing and round various blocks of flats etc someones meter cupboard has one of these in and its a CU for rhe communal lightning. Slowly replacing them though
So many times ive come to boards where they've rattled them in. Far too tight almost round out the screws on the Neutral and earth bar when trying to unscrew them. Im not a fan of it
I think its you who has been confused by mine and @Vortigern posts. I was asking as i said in my post because normally those in my experience who dont put the earth in with the mains tails normally have the live in a different entry to the neutral. Vortigern has simply posted the reg about...
I think jon u were waiting for me to slip up so you could jump in to chastise me but now you're going on the defensive because u cant.
It is relevant as like i said in my experience people who take the main earth through a different entry tend to put the live through a different point to the...
If u re read what i put i never say it cant...but simply ones that ive come across that do take the earth through a different entry point they also take the live through a different entry to the neutral. Its all there in my post.
Not that im suggesting he has. His board looks stunning and a good job. My experience is that 9 times out of 10 boards i come across that have the earth going through a different entry they also have thw main tails going through different entries to one another.
But in all fairness OP great job...
