The gas and water are both 6mm but some one has also run 10mm to them no idea when that was.
Main earth is 6mm from the 16mm twin.
If I wanted the board changed would I need to have a 16mm earth run?
A new earth could be run easy straight out the wall and down to where the main intake is...
Seen loads of flats are fed from a 60amp isolator in 10mm twin and earth?
don't they need to be 16mm tails and at least a 10mm earth?
or is it just down to the adiabatic?
The oven i brought for my new flat is Bosch HBS534BS0B
I have a cooker circuit thats on 40 amps fed in a think its 6mm not sure it might be 10mm is there any easy way to tell 6 and 10mm apart?
If the cirxuit is downgraded to 16 amps can that oven be wired into the cooker outlet point
How can I get a 3 wire no trip test of between 2ohms and 1114 ohms
But on a high current test get 0.19 between live and earth and 0.1 between live and neutral.
When the rcd is bridged out I can do the 3 wire test and get a sensible zs of 0.2 ohms.
The strangest part is the first 2 sockets on...
Thanks for the replies :)
I was just curious as all....before I brought the property the neutral in the main switch had burnt out.
And the board was replaced, what would cause that? Would the neutral cable have just become loose over the past 40 or 50 years or could the problem have been...
Ah that makes sense. ?
I will try that in the morning.
so with Insulation Resistance Though you can test off the neutral bar and or earth bar and the breakers though right?
On my cu at home I have a continuity reading between my ring final circuit and a radial circuit of 114ohms between live conductors.
When I test continuity from each breaker.
Why would that be? Break down of cable
If I turn one off and leave the other on I don't get a voltage.
At what point...
So earth and neutral are the same they just go into different bars in this case...
The neutral is the return path so why does the circuit breaker operate when the earth is turned into the return path in the case of a fault....if they are the same
Learning and curious
At my home the neutral and earth are joined by the cut out fuse.
The neutral goes up to the meter and the earth goes straight to the board.
I can't wrap my head around how the earth and neutral are different?
When the cut out fuse is out ( some one broke the seal along...
I want to put it above my shower its a small shower room so the tray takes up most of the room...
From the tray to the ceiling it measures about 2.15m so the light would be just above the shower head
But from the floor to the ceiling it measures 2.4m there is a massive step into the shower
