(My bold) Nice to see pride taken in your work. Nothing worse than uneven accessories, especially in a kitchen where they can stand out against a tiled background.
As Midwest said, I've often come across uneven cupboard units, especially the wall hung ones.
Looks ok to me,
Did you intend the accessories to be so close together? I assume you set the back boxes at a distance apart that would enable the face plates to be almost touching? this is fine provided that any future face plate is of the same size. I know some decorative ones can be larger...
I think I would be more proud to know my son made choices he was truly happy with and learnt from the ones he was not.
whether he ended up digging ditches or a brain surgeon which ever made him the most happiest and was content with, then that's really all I'd want.
I agree and that was partially my point, being happy is the most important aspect in life in general, or what is the point?
A person's full potential is not always how well educated they are. You only have to look at - sports, arts, performing... some of the highest and most respected...
I think its all relative, or at least for me anyway. I'd be/am proud of anything my son achieves to his full potential. For example if he excels in school/college & Uni achieves high in his education and then he decided to become an apprentice spark (no disrespect) but I think I would feel a...
A motto (my bold) that has served me well for many years! I even take it one step further these days:- If I'm measuring in metric and wanting to remember the size for example, lets say 1110mm I also note the closest imperial size (that's "inches" to you young ones) which would be 43". What this...
Had a lad turn up one day last year, high as a kite on some drugs he'd taken early that morning on a night out. I was more shocked he'd actually turned in for work
Needless to say he had his marching orders!
You won't stop a suspended fitting from swaying unless you anchor it in at least 3 points (as Richard Burns explained)^^^^^
But if you wanted to reduce that sway then a thicker rod or conduit maybe be as snow head mentioned. Also the size and weight of the fitting will play a part.
If the...
As Richard said ^^^^^
Although its best practice to connect the bonding within 600mm at point of entry, sometimes this is not possible/practical. In these scenarios you are required to determine the best possible connection point and then make a note on your EICR.
You'd be surprised (ok maybe you wouldn't) how many poorly fitted integrated appliances I've seen!
I called round a mate of mine's house to help him re-fit the door to his "newly installed" integrated dish washer. He couldn't get the kitchen fitter back to fix it, his missus was on his case so I...
I doubt it, they should expect to pay an absolute minimum £18 per hour, for a fully qualified sub contractor, and that is still cheap! I know of one electrician who charges £16 p/h and he is flat out busy! But he only does domestic and supplies nothing but himself and a few tools.
I wouldn't bond the steel unless it tests out to be extraneous.
In my opinion 10mm2 for the cooker is overkill in this situation.
Though this said, its your design and you should go with what you feel is right. So long as the installation complies with the current regs, there is nothing...
Though the interpretation is such, I think its a bit daft. I've often come across one mcb protecting a number of "different" circuits. Tested them and recorded them as individual which to me makes sense (I could be completely wrong of course), even though I'm well within the regs to just record...
