Always check on the dimmer manf. website to see what lamps/fittings/drivers it has been tested with otherwise it's pot luck and even intermittent faults can occur for no logical reason. Oscilloscope on circuit All becomes clear.
Stair lighting in wood handrail or if stud walls led tape profile mounted in wall looks good, better not to see the led tape direct on as looks tacky. See companies like Monoled or gap lighting for help. If a job is worth doing, do it well. B&Q is not the place for quality light fittings ok for...
Hi remember if you are testing other people's work as an Electrical Condition Report that your insurance must cover that. Often it only covers testing your own work, worth checking out as my business partner was caught out once with his insurance which was via NICIEC. Especially on a site you...
Put some black electrical tape on all the bits you want to test and see if that changes result. As sometimes it's the reflectance of the image giving dodgy readings.
I would suggest using 3 x CAT6a cables into euromodules and a coax euromodule into a deep double back box and face plate for each tv point all wired back to patch panel. Wifi points 2 x CAT 6a cables (inc 1 spare) next to bedside table 2 x CAT6a can be used for phone or data. If high end house...
Generally love scolmore accessories and stuff however their light fittings are different matter suggest look elsewhere like Orluna ask for Paul Simmonds or PhotonStarLED Neil Fuller they have both proved superb in service and fantastic products. Pay a bit more and have very happy customers...
Sounds like you have had an interesting career. Pleased you are on the forum and keeping up with things, keeps the grey cells working, nice if you can help some of the youngsters on here and pass on valuable skills. Never been directly employed by PSA myself however have loads of old stories...
PSA thats a name from the past a system that worked reasonably well. Did loads of work for them doing Switchgear panels and Halon Fire Detection Systems why do you ask?
Festool plunge saw on rails with vacuum with old blade Just in case I get the odd nail. Nice straight lines and bolster to lift board nice quick option and very little dust/mess.
Leica best I have used bright narrow precise lines providing greater accuracy far better than Fatmax IMHO. Suggest try a few next next to each other and differece is evident. Worth spending a bit more.
Lots of Medium / high end houses are now having VESDA air sampling systems as its nearly an invisible system and 5 x better than conventional detection. However still need a conventional hear detector for kitchen and utility rooms. If the client can afford it worth considering.
Must be a big kitchen for that amount of light have you carried out a relux calculation before your spending money? Best advice is to use good quality fittings which are correctly rated for the environment and not buy whatever is on offer at the local wholesalers.
If you are only looking at lighting control I would suggest Rako controls as easier to install and can be installed and programmed by any decent electrician. Lutron is fine but specialist is required for any future changes.
