have been thinking of getting one of these, as things like fitting capping, conduit etc would be much easier/faster.
I dont really know much about these, and am yet to find anyone else with one to try, so wondering if anyone has one, and what are they like?
Do they consistantly bury the nail...
I have a customer who has a extractor fan in a storage container used for ventilation.
They would like a timer fitted which enables the fan to come on for 10 minuets every hour.
Im struggling to find an off the shelf timer that would let me do this?
Anyone got Any ideas?
Cheers
During a flat renovation i removed and skipped a very old and battered storage heater and ordered one of the new super expensive (customer nearly had a heart attack) storage heaters, assuming it would go right in place.
Only discovered earlier they need a dual ----ing feed!!
Its not really...
I was partly responsible for an Niceic domestic spark being booted recently!
The customer called me up asking me to take a look at a Re-wire just done, it was truly awful and dangerous.
I emailed the pics to the NICEIC, asking them to contact the customer.
Apparently the Niceic inspector said...
All the wiring will be behind the stud wall inside the partition, then the light fittings themselves inside a recess with sealed glass on top,
So both the light fittings and wiring are sealed from the actual spray area.
As far as I'm aware the wiring behind the stud wall does not need any...
Trying to make my mind up as to the best/easiest wiring system for going behind a large partition wall (around 1 ft partition depth) for a large spray booth. For around 50 light fittings wall mounted.
Thinking of conduit and singles, with flex coming out of Clik connectors for each light...
Thanks Guys, Sorry about delay coming back, all been a bit busy!!!
Yes i would say from what I've measured with a clamp they are drawing around 100-120A/PH most of the day during business hours.
Each phase is almost exactly the same, as its 90% 3PH equipment (no neutral).
I have tried...
A company i do work for are running over the capacity of their existing 100A 3PH supply, they are pulling around 100-120A all day long.
I am trying to get them to get a bigger supply, they have tried asking for a 250A supply from the DNO, but they want £20K. (they reckon the transformer would...
Had a callout for a landlord as the bathroom fan stopped working.
Didnt take too long to work out why...
Never seen a fan quite as bad as this before!!
Wonder what caused this, possibly got jammed and overheated?
Guys, Just to settle a debate i had earlier with another spark.
100A 1361-2 DNO fuse, constant current of 130A.
He thinks it will blow within minuets.
I think it will last a good few hours. (At least).
I cant find any time/current info on 1361 fuses, but would quite like to know the answer...
Guys, i like to have a broad knowledge base and range of work, as i get bored doing the same things day in day out.
From working on F1 hospitality units, to kitting out warehouses, to a little bit of domestic (however i generally hate domestic Re-wires, so rarely do these).
I have been...
Sorry, i probably wasnt very clear.
I put clamp meter on earth and started, it showed 40A before MCB tripped.
I then noticed continuity on my voltage meter between L1(U1) and earth, so then disconnected the motor.
I then used the IR tester to double check the cable between the started and...
L1- U1/W2
L2- V1/U2
L3- W1/V2
Which i believe to be correct, and used this before. But even if i got a coil mixed up would it cause an earth to coil short?
Have had bit of a nightmare with a job of installing a replacement 15KW extraction system motor in a workshop.
The previous motor was just DOL so only one 3 core cable between the workshop and the motor which is outside, the otherside of building.
The new extraction system came with...
