    EAL experienced worker portfolio

Has anybody on here completed the EAL experienced workers portfolio? I’m just wondering what kind of jobs you done and how you presented it? My assessor has told me to complete 3 jobs, they are very vague and I am confused with all the units how I’m going to get 3 jobs to cover everything if I...

Kewtech KT63 lead setup for ze, pefc and pscc

Hi gents and ladies, I’ve just bought a Kewtech KT63, the instructions aren’t very clear on lead setup. When doing a Ze is this a 3 lead test on no trip setting, using the green blue and brown test leads? When doing PEFC and PSCC is this a 2 lead test on high setting. So the blue/green leads...

    EAL experienced worker

Hi all, I’ve been working as an electrical engineer for the past 11 years for manufacturing companies and recently decided to go self employed. I’ve tried joining NAPIT & NIC because my nvq3 is in maintenance they won’t accept it and say I need to do the experienced worker qualification, am2 &...

    Building control self cert

Yes I can see the issue there with regards to them not knowing if it’s been completed satisfactory or correct. Also explains the high fees for inspectors or 3rd party on site. I will give them a call Monday, was just wondering if anyone had any experience. Cheers

    Building control self cert

Yeah true, I will give them a call Monday. Having a mare with Napit, called July 21 and asked if I could join, they said yes. Left my last job after 10 years to go self employed in November, set the business up in December and tried to join. They told me I can’t join because my NVQ3 isn’t on...

    Building control self cert

Hi all, If I aren’t part of one of 2 schemes is it possible to notify building control of your work? If I’m fully qualified and competent in installation and inspection and testing, can I issue a EIC with test results directly to building control without paying a fee and having an inspector...

Is Part Pee fit for purpose / who is policing this scam ???

Good idea, but I thought 3rd party verification wasn’t aloud? As in I do the install and a registered spark submits it to BC?

Is Part Pee fit for purpose / who is policing this scam ???

I guess maybe all the complaints about registered sparks doing poor work have caused the new changes to schemes and they This is what they told me on the phone, it’s really annoying because I actually enquired around July last year when I was thinking of going self employed. I should of done...

    Experienced work C&G

Hi, has anybody done the C&G experienced worker? What’s involved? What training provider did you use?

Is Part Pee fit for purpose / who is policing this scam ???

Not the case, if apart of a cps scheme before September 21 your membership would be honered and not affected by the new change. Both for Napit and NIC, it’s on their website and also the lady told me on the phone if I had been in a cps previously I would of been ok. I agree totally there has to...

Is Part Pee fit for purpose / who is policing this scam ???

I’ve spoken to a few over the phone at Napit, the first Lady was a little confused as my NVQ3 is in electrical engineering but covers installation, maintenance, handover, health and safety, electrical theory/principles. She never got back to me, so I spoke to a gent last week who said I would...

Is Part Pee fit for purpose / who is policing this scam ???

I’m not registered, you only need to look at the reviews of NIC and Napit from both customers and competent sparks. Not many regard them yet they seem to try and rule the trade over competent knowledgable guys. I’m a fully qualified electrical engineer level 3,4 and degree I’ve worked for many...

    20A radial 2 double sockets

The return leg can be installed in some surface trunking in the corner back to consumer unit to save chasing. A vacuum might not even be plugged in, just thinking worst case loading. Likely the other socket will remain unused.

    20A radial 2 double sockets

Sure, 2G is rated 20A with potential of 26A. The cct is already in place, just wondering my best method as customer wants to change the existing room to a utility and plug in washing machine and tumble dryer. Was thinking run a 2.5mm back to the consumer unit and make it a 32A ring. But thought...

    20A radial 2 double sockets

Is a 20A 2.5mm radial sufficient for 2 sockets in a utility room? Will be a tumble dryer/washing machine plugged in and a spare socket used for a Hoover occasionally.
