Thanks, what I meant was that he wants to use 1 TPN intake, as opposed to getting DNO to run in individual supplies to each unit. Yes, a 200A per phase supply is starting to sound more realistic. Existing supply fed from a small pole transformer though...
Diversity always seems to end up on the...
Hi,
Looking at a potential job. Agricultural buildings being divided into 10 mixed use units of around 1000 sq ft each.
Present supply is a 100A TPN incomer.
Future use of units is unknown at this stage, but planning is for B1 B2 so uses could be anything from a warehouse with a bit of lighting...
My biggest worry is that it is specifically for the cleaning of feet, and I'm pretty sure that wet bare feet and the improved connection to earth via said wet feet is the main reason for more stringent requirements in bath and shower rooms. You can easily have wet hands in a kitchen or toilet...
Just looking at it from an electrical perspective, 35mm galv boxes spaced off the wall with offcuts of copper tube cut to length would give a decent fixing, combined with a good bead of adhesive around boxes as you're boarding the wall.
From an insulation side though, this does compromise the...
Ha! My Transit needs something every year....I know about them but don't fix them in case the MOT turns out to be truly fatal! Usual stuff like cracked screen or a bit of rust...if it passes this year It'll prob make it to 250k before next MOT due
I use double 6 general purpose blades for most work, generally they perform pretty well. Definitely need to use water to keep dust down. Since you know its C40 concrete, might be worth giving Spectrum a ring to see which blade they recommend for that application. Stihl saw in a floor trolley...
It would help if manufacturers actually kept up with regs updates and developed products to allow us to easily comply with updated editions!
Tray and steel ties all good for commercial, but I can't see a domestic customer going for that look!
If the power supply has internal overload protection, then is there a need to add in line fusing?
As mentioned, loads of these units are likely fed by unfused schuko plugs protected by b16 breaker. So maybe get specs for power supply for more info first.
I was always under the impression that summing Ze plus R1+R2 is an acceptable method of establishing Zs.
However, doing the reverse and subtracting Ze from Zs to determine R1+R2 is not acceptable practice.
Agree on the accuracy point above, I'm increasingly finding that no trip Zs tests are...
Ha! It's always when the job is going too well that these things happen!
Everything turning out as expected, all gear available, nothing forgotten or missing, most of the way through the job and you're already secretly congratulating yourself on a job well done...thoughts turn to the possibility...
Is there any particular problem with using ho7 flex for the whole run from CU to isolator? It's got superior properties to T and E. I know people get wound up about using 'flex' for fixed wiring, but not sure why. Seems to be the norm on the continent, and none of this reduced cpc nonsense we...
I read it just fine! Your intepretation is that it is obtaining money by deception. Fact is, it's a missing EIC. Whether you are right or wrong, attempting to get the Police involved to determine that will undoubtedly be fruitless!
This is the 2nd time in the last week that I've seen comments about involving the Police in electrical matters! I'd love to hear the phonecall...they don't even routinely attend burglaries these days, the chances of any Police interest over a missing EIC is laughable!
It wasn't really 'dropped' though, simply superceded by the requirement that all socket outlets below 20a require 30ma additional protection.
But the level of danger posed remains different as per the best practice guidance. That states c2 if kit likely to be used outdoors and c3 for other...
Mesh usually incorporated within the heating cable itself. On some the cold tail is just standard flex, so not apparent as such, but the heating cable itself normally includes a braided earthed outer core. Follow MI's and all should be fine. Usually fit Prowarm but should imagine warmup would be...
