There might be some tunnelling work going on beneath the house, theres crossrail and the Thames Tideway going on right now, have you thought about that ! Them TBM's make a hell of a racket. There was a house not far from me that collapsed a few years ago cause of the tunnelling beneath...
Dont see how a poor loop reading can be the result of an initial verification per se. whatever is causing a high loop reading could be anything from, ccc too small, high resistance (loose) connections, suppliers earthing system at fault maybe, earth rod problems, ect ect. The question does not...
Not sure how you assume my two posts lack considered response and lack detail. The OP questions are what they are, the threads end up going round the houses cause people chime in with response that veers off the path, !
The link there does state for a 400w dimmer the max number of led's is 40, but it dont state a wattage ! Supposing it means 40 x 10w, thats bang on max loading which I would not like. Also consider the reply from varilight (as someone posted earlier) to use only 75% of the dimmers load, and also...
Right, the lamps ive chosen have a running current of 65mA, start up is 10 times the running current so thats 650mA or 0.65 A, times this by 24 equals 15.6a inrush. Convert this to watts equals 3588w. So this means I need a dimmer that is rated to at least 3588w (4Kw) to withstand the inrush ...
In a nutshell the existing circuit has 24 lamps on one switch, three times (theres 3 separate circuits each with a 16a CB). So im looking for a dimmer that can handle x24 (9-10w) leds !, if i cannot find one then I will get a mode lighting power pack but they are a bit pricey
Murdoch, its going a bit off track here. Currently the existing circuit is on one switch operating x24 100w filament lamps; they want them changed to led's and also to be able to dim them, hence my OP :)
