Ive really recommended a rewire of existing lighting and switch drops but he's not having it full stop, don't know why but hes a problem customer who wont listen. Anyway the existing feed to the loft needs extending to get the lights back on as the builder cut the cable when he demolished the...
Yeh Buzz that would be functional but aint there a caveat in the regs that a new circuit should be sound "all the way round" so to speak.

Just re-read that, yeh I see what you mean. If the customer don't agree to rewire then can I do what I said in original post, thanks.
This is a new one on me and not so sure how to tackle it. The customer is extending 3 bedrooms, ive quoted to install new lighting circuit for these rooms.
The existing circuit for the upstairs lighting does not have an earth and due to its routing it will need extending to fit round the shape...
Yeh, I did an awareness course years ago, from what I remember the (don't even touch it) stuff was loosefill and pipe lagging, although these were mostly used in industrial applications. Thought to ask you guys about this stuff though as its better to be sure ; im sure most people have...
Anyone know if that ancient green coloured itchy scratchy loft insulation that is rolled out (similarish to the modern yellow coloured rockwall), ever contain asbestos ?
I know that loosefill is a particularly nasty form of asbestos, but in relation to the old green rolled out stuff in lofts...
I do enjoy my Saturdays lol.
r1+r2 is halved cause its half the length (agreement on that), then the formula needs another division of 2 to satisfy (division of 4). So in that case its half the remainder
(R1+R2)/4 = Expected R2
Its divided by 4 because its half the length (divided by 2) of R1+R2; then divided by 2 again because your eliminating R1. The result is R2
Good evening and hope all is well. Ive been looking into a garden lighting job. Customer wants four channels of lights, different colours/dimmable ect ect so was thinking a wise box would be ideal. Im not sure if to have the lights at 12/24v obviously with a transformer at each channel, or 230v...
You do now need your 18th to get a fresh card. If you have recently completed your NVQ3 and AM2 there's no need to do the ECS H&S as it would have been covered in the NVQ3.
Does lighting still need to be 3% v.d if using led ?, thought some leds had a operational voltage between two values (say 200v - 240v). I Might be wrong about that but do seem to recall something along those lines in another discussion a while ago.
Thats all good info cheers; the customer would like the option of instant heat out of hours as it Eco7, and so would need another supply. The costs do skyrocket thou with minimal in the way of efficiency savings.
