What about a bottled gas fridge, when I had a fridge in my van it was alot more economical to run it on gas. 12v to 240v inverters zap the batteries unless the engine is running. I had a small fridge running all the time on gas an it lasted a month or more between changes. Remeber to run a vent...
Have question thats been on my mind for a while. Does anyone know if; at 250 -500 v, a single layer of heat shrink, or a single layer of insulation tape for that matter, covering a bare conductor, sufficient insulation against ?? direct contact/a shock ?
It seems a bit thin in comparison to to...
I bought some pineapple chunks from a well known supermarket chain and was surprised how knorish theyare, one of my five a day for my lifestyle change, also ive recently started to use olive oil instead of vegetable oil stuff, it clogs the drains you know.
Just seen some sds drillbit sets in Lidl's, only £10 for a set of 4 super long sds masonary bits (up to 20mm I think), also theyre doing x10 auger bits in a metal case, and a chisel set in a case for £10. Looks like a bargain for the price !!
Theres usually 3 options from an agency:
1. Use umbrella scheme. Dont ask, can get complex.
2. CIS (you must be registered). A better idea if you already SE
3. PAYE for the agency. You pay NI and probably a better idea if your not SE.
You will need alot of photo's! just the H&S units you will need photo's of you sweeping up, working with other trades, using barriers, using signage, fire exits/stations, signing in/out of workplace, checking work area remains safe for continued work, PPE in use, checking tools and equipment is...
Yep I saw those, see similar on another site this time listed with a En number; but theres nothing on the cb itself. Thought to ask here cause no one else I know has ever seen them before, !
Today I come across some mcbs in a CU ive never seen, theyre made by LSN, single pole B6, but dont appear to have any BS, EN ect. They have a CE mark, AC 230/400 and have a breaking capacity of 10Ka. Anyone ever seen these, are they cosha ?? Being rated at 230v-400v I dont expect they that old...
Was it a fairly large bloke, pasty complexion, who ate sausages for lunch ?? If so then it might be the same o who assessed me; told me that my SWA to an outbuilding needed to be RCD'd ?? and marked it as a non-conformity. I complained and had it over-ruled. I think his name was Andy (might be...
433.2.2 concerns devices for protection against overload, however the next one (433.3.1 [iii]) concerns omission of devices for protection against overload, and says a device can be omitted "where the suppliers fuse affords protection to the part of the installation between the origin and the...
Im thinking that as the (regs) are not retrospective, then if this install was completed before the 3m rule then it does not really need to be upgraded, but dont know when this reg (from IEE or DNO) was introduced. Im probably over thinking this but like to be sure, to be sure.
Thanks SP, i read that the DNO base the 3m rule on an assessment of risk (ie its less likely to be drilled through if the length is shorter) and not on any mathematical equations. Im sure there is something in the regs relating to this. I looked at an older install earlier, the tails are about...
Hello, anyone know when the regs recommending a switch fuse for meter tails greater than 3m long was introduced ? On older installations (about 20 years ago) was a switch fuse required on tails over 3m ?
Thanks
