Got a customer who wants multi room music installing in his house that is being extended
I have never installed anything like that but I am interested in branching out.
He is wanting ceiling speakers and the ability to control different areas.
I did suggest going down the sonos route but just...
I've not seen that kind of board before but I have replaced those type of RCDs before in the old wylex boards. A standard Rcd fits but you also need a wylex adaption kit which contains new wire links and half blank pieces as full ones won't fit in the space as the new RCDs are slightly smaller...
Just a long shot but anyone Glasgow based recommend a good plumber ?
I'm quoting for a job which requires an electric shower to be installed from scratch and looking for a plumber to come and pipe it
Anyone got any recommendations ? The last guy I used wasn't the best so don't want to use...
I carnt find the instructions to the igniter listed but I know that igniters are funny about being far away from the lamp itself. The picture I have found it looks like a standard igniter.
I would temporary connect the igniter next to the lamp holder and ballest at the bottom to confirm it...
Part P doesn't apply in Scotland. Even so he needs to supply test certificates for any work or alterations he has done..
The poof you heard was likely a fault blowing clear which is a rough and dangerous way of working. You need to perform dead tests first before livening up the new circuits...
It could be possible to modify the 3 phase circuits but if all depends on the wiring. Best get an electrician in to check things over and advise what is required
When I was referencing using conduit to span doorways in a conservatory I meant that I had dug up the floor as it had dwarf walls and there was no other way than go under the floor. But yes I see your point you do have to have fire resistant cable supports over exit doorways
I'm not registered with any scheme so 3rd party notification is a no go would be good if there was a cross over cert that would do the job
And I don't know the kitchen company who installed it, the t&e not clipped isn't a big issue but this is under a suspended floor where rats could be in the...
I've done that several times ran most of the ring in t&e and then dropped a few links in , in conduit and singles. Done it a few times when wiring sockets in a conservatory and having to span a doorway. Nothing wrong with it aslong as all singles are enclosed in containment
Well I went back to the customer and said I wasn't prepared to test it. I said it wasn't up to my standard and I am not taking responsibility for someone else's work. I said I would come back and install a whole new circuit and test but they will babe to pay. They said they would chase the...
Hi all
Thanks for your input
No I haven't touched their circuit I have even stated on my EIC that my certificate does not cover it.
The kitchen company got funny because there wasn't a consumer unit installed when they were fitting the kitchen and they second fixed it but left the two...
Need a bit of advice /opinions
I completed a full rewire a couple of months ago prior to starting the customer said kitchen company was sorting kitchen ring and my contract/quotation stated I was not responsible for this while first fixing kitchen company fitted kitchen and left kitchen ring...
