    Computer memory. RAM.......

For Ryzen you REALLY need faster RAM, preferably 3200Mhz at CL14. I would seriously wait til Monday, the next-gen Ryzens are supposed to being announced, and you should be able to get miles better performance for similar price, or the 2xxx series will drop in price.....

    Computer memory. RAM.......

Murdoch's right.....16GB is the minimum I'd want these days. And for gaming....the graphics card is the budget killer..

    Computer memory. RAM.......

...Also I'd wait for the next-gen Ryzen 3000 series CPUs to come out (imminently) otherwise you may end up with buyers regret. They look like they are going to blow Intel out of the water on price and performance.... Plus....Intel chips are full of security flaws..

    Computer memory. RAM.......

All mainstream desktop motherboards these days use dual channel memory...the 'HEDT' ones are even quad channel. Dual channel memory will be worth it for gaming and video editing, can make a significant difference. If a new PC didn't have it these days, I'd be wondering what other corners have...

    10mA RCD for bathroom circuits

An update on this one. I rang him on Monday and told him where I stood and that I am happy to do any work he wants doing so long as it is to BS7671, and the 10mA thing ain't happening....and he started crying....actually crying. I asked him what's wrong and he hung up. Odd fella he is.

    10mA RCD for bathroom circuits

I never would agree to this unless it was a light fitting or something. He just produced the CU when I got there.

    10mA RCD for bathroom circuits

Yes I understand that is an application for them. Never done anything like that myself.

    10mA RCD for bathroom circuits

Thanks Murdoch, I had already looked but wasn't inspired by price or condition of most of them. Also, would need a B6, B40 and probably a B6, B10 or B16. Anyhow....I'm not going back so who cares!!

    10mA RCD for bathroom circuits

Thanks guys, I think I will give this job a miss. I never heard of 10mA RCD protection in a domestic bathroom, I have only encountered them infrequently in any situation....the chap said he got the idea from a relative who lives in Spain. Maybe they use them over there.

    10mA RCD for bathroom circuits

Think that might be the way I'll go.... Have you ever had the 10mA thing?? This guy says he once 'had an electric shock off a tap'...hence his paranoia I think.

    10mA RCD for bathroom circuits

Ha yes that's how I feel TBH. He'd probably be standing over my shoulder the whole time criticising my work anyway.

    10mA RCD for bathroom circuits

Been to look at a job this morning for a CU change, customer the type who wants to have his say on every tiny detail. He has already bought the CU as well, a Wylex RCBO unit..... I pointed out that the RCBO ratings he has bought don't align with what I actually need...and that some will need...

Position of socket for integrated oven

Put it in an adjacent kitchen unit where it will be accessible. Bad idea to have it behind the oven!

Outside light off an already used spur in 2.5t&e

You need a fused connection unit fused at 13A at the point where this spur leaves the ring. Simple as that! Then you can add another fused spur at 3A for the light.

Lap c*ap... I know, but its requested by the customer

The Lap stuff looks really nice but I have regretted installing it in the past. The switches on the sockets have a tendency to just stop working....usually they just get stuck in the 'ON' position. I've also had a couple that have stopped accepting plugs properly...in that they will only go...
