    I went years ago on my first honeymoon (well, 3 weeks in the Maldives and thankfully only 2 nights in Dubai on the way home). It was like being back at work, the whole place is a construction site. Not enjoyable at all. And the way the men looked at my (then) wife made my blood boil.

    Old MK sockets? Classification code or not?

    I still have a few of those sockets in use in my house, in the basement and loft. The only reason I changed the others was because the wife wanted fancy ones. Nothing wrong with them, nobody sees them except me, and I like them. I'd like to see someone try and code them, I wouldn't be impressed!

    That RCD is rated at 63A, not sure I would want a shower and cooker on it, along with immersion and everything else.

    Who advises customers on smokes during EICRs? Not as part of the formal process, obviously. I always give the advice as an aside, sort of thing. The wiring could be perfect, but there could be no smokes at all in the house, I just think it is worth a mention.

    My grandma was having a new meter fitted a couple of years ago by EDF and they wouldn't do it cos she didn't have any certificates for her installation. I didn't really get it at the time. In the end I did an EICR and they then fitted the meter..
