    Powering extractor fans

Probably, but you need to check the fan manufacturer's instructions for fusing requirements and make sure that the wiring is safe from damage by the users of the hall, including children, if any.

Agree about the ant problem. I regard manufacturer's instructions as a guide only. The water seals on equipment may be OK when new, but after they've started to harden and deteriorate, and especially if disturbed, they'll no longer work as designed. So I think that adding drain holes is a...

    Powering extractor fans

I was thinking of one of these, given the OP's stated requirements: Electrisaver Immersion Heater Booster - https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/Timers_Index/Immersion_Heater_Timers_2/index.html

Sounds OK, although you'll probably end up with a neater job if the fan is properly wired in to a fixed countdown timer via a fused connection unit, leaving the socket available for other uses.

Yes, but I see the IET as a technical authority, nothing to do with Part P or how contractors are organised or supervised. Not really their role at all. Surely this should be set out by the government in Approved Document P. I'd go further and say that Part P registration should be by...

My policy with any outdoor stuff is to assume that water will get inside and always drill one or two drain holes (usually a 4.5mm drill) whether the manufacturer's instructions say to or not. With outdoor bulkhead lights...

This light looked OK, but with low IR on the supply. Although I did notice an odd dribble of water on the outside. So I started to investigate and found that the installer had filled the base with expanding foam. Causing the whole post to fill with water. Including the junction box half...

    Electrical test connectors.

Indeed. I have a collection of them stuck to the side of my filing cabinet. One lives in the van for finding joists and studs (by attraction to the screws or nails).

1mm or 1.5mm T&E for standard lighting circuit in your average house.

True, but thinner cable will keep the inrush current down a bit. ;)
