    it came from a rep. from cable manufacturers it also helps with the stress/stretching of cable ,also recommended in australia after cable fell 16 floors in a riser (is your mind still boggling)

    pulled long hv cables used long stocking then drilled 2 holes through cable sock and cable (at different angles )then bolted sock to cable and taped up well

    Locating an SWA fault?

    have you tried exposing cable outside of extension and give it a good pull to see if it moves if its only 8mtr you might be able to pull enough to see damage (unless its cast in concrete)

    i would have thought if the neutral point wasn,t earthed they would be concerned, it would also be a bit dark

    did a load of bare copper pyro on a furnace back in the 60s single cores and multi cores,we had to paint the galv tray with red oxide before cabling

    use a non ferous gland plate or tuffnol or just throw the gland plate away crimp a lug on job done (seen it done)

    Just back from spain ,hot water packed in (rep said just let it run it will be ok ) found plantroom not locked? no cover on immersion novel way of wiring maintenance guy thought it ok (or i think thats what he said ) heater tripping rcd out and taking all solar out with it
