Yes I got a temp ban on this forum, so I joined another one. You use two forums too, else how would you know?
We didnt suspect the issue to be with the distributor.
Has anyone ever encountered a fault with a RCD which causes a potential on earth in respect to neutral?
I am a trainee electrician, working with an experienced electrician. We encountered a fault today, earth had a potential of 238V in respect to Neutral and a 0 V potential in respect to...
I have a multi function tester m8, they aint hard to use and the results from the tests are simple to understand. If you wire the circuit correctly there is a very small chance there will be a fault in the circuit, stop trying to scare people.
You don't have a clue m8, I am talking about the law. If you alter or add to a circuit there is no stipulation in law that you have to test the circuit, end of!
The same applies to if an electrician gets it wrong, then they cause a fire or kill someone. Like I said it is not difficult to understand, it is very hard to get it wrong. Everything is standardised, all the hard work has been done for us and is all there for everyone to read in the on site guide!

I value all of your advice, I changed the circuit in accordance with the advice given in this forum. Thank you all for your valuable advice.
I do not know what objections you had regarding my original plan? The regulations people stated my original plan was contravening had no relevance to my...

This is exactly why I asked if I was breaking any regulations and from what I have read on here from you experts, there is not one regulation that I would have broken.
I have now...

They are two threads, two different topics. One about ring final spurs and one about J803 junction boxes. I don't mind if you delete both threads, Everyone has been most helpful and have answered my questions. Thank you everyone :)
I want to connect 6 downlights, I hate looping them because downlights do not give you enough space to grip 2 cables. If they push in the holes on the 803 and do not pull out, can I just use one hole for 2 cores?
