Line and Neutral reversed coming into the distribution board? That could make allot of sense. We didn't do a live polarity test thinking about it.

Potential difference between Earth and Neutral

Yes I got a temp ban on this forum, so I joined another one. You use two forums too, else how would you know? We didnt suspect the issue to be with the distributor.

Potential difference between Earth and Neutral

I just would like to know if anyone thinks it is remotely possible a fault inside the RCD could cause this issue?

Potential difference between Earth and Neutral

Has anyone ever encountered a fault with a RCD which causes a potential on earth in respect to neutral? I am a trainee electrician, working with an experienced electrician. We encountered a fault today, earth had a potential of 238V in respect to Neutral and a 0 V potential in respect to...

    Chasing cable in a ceiling

I have a multi function tester m8, they aint hard to use and the results from the tests are simple to understand. If you wire the circuit correctly there is a very small chance there will be a fault in the circuit, stop trying to scare people.

    Spur from Ring Final Circuit

You don't have a clue m8, I am talking about the law. If you alter or add to a circuit there is no stipulation in law that you have to test the circuit, end of!

    Chasing cable in a ceiling

I think the problem with electricians is that they think they are the only people who are capable of reading and understanding BS7671. Maybe it is because they had difficulty understanding the regulations and needed them explaining to them is the reason they do not think other people are capable...

    Chasing cable in a ceiling

BS7671 are not referred to in any statutory document, if ou disagree please post a reference to said document. This is exactly why I asked if I was breaking any regulations and from what I have read on here from you experts, there is not one regulation that I would have broken. I have now...

    Hager J803

I want to connect 6 downlights, I hate looping them because downlights do not give you enough space to grip 2 cables. If they push in the holes on the 803 and do not pull out, can I just use one hole for 2 cores?
  15. G

    Hager J803

Why would you need to put more than one cable in one grip if you can only join 4 cables?
  16. G

    Spur from Ring Final Circuit

My mistake, that is showing you how to secure the cable in the cable grip
