    Is LSF spec or regs?

I was stripping LSF a couple of years ago in winter, which was so bad, all I had was two white conductors and a CPC. The stuff should be banned under nuclear treaties

    Is LSF spec or regs?

Generally LSF is a specification from the consultant in an install. Obviously as above (reg 711) for exhibitions etc, LSF makes sense, but I think there is not other requirement for it My only requirement for the manufacturers, is to make one that actually strips half as easily as...

Help to find Best cable reel ???

I made a steel conduit set years ago. 20 mm in two right angle boxes, with a 20mm into a 25mm as the spool. It folds down to nothing to fit in a bag and does up to 10mm t&e and singles. Or racketeers with anything as the spool. Even had three 240mm’s on a bit of scaffold pole on them the other day

    Lightning r1r2 testing advice

You need to record the highest R1+R2, so need to test the end of line normally. In your circumstance, you’re going to have to test a few that are furthest from the board to get identify highest reading. If you don’t, you just know your assessor will ask you to test one and it’ll be higher than...

    2.5mm Ring wired off a 4mm Radial

I’ve seen this a few times in schools and in commercial/industrial, when the RFC is a distance from the dis board. It reduces volt drop, cable cost and takes less room in trunking. Not against any regs, but personally not my favourite circuit type. I think there should be a reg that identifies...

Found this in an not to be named East London hotel, above reception, live and on a 32 amp breaker, running A/C condenser. The live conductor was literally 2 inches from the metal ceiling grid

    LED Lighting

There is no issue with LED and HFF or any other light fittings on the same lighting circuit. Are the LED lamps fed by the correct drivers? Did you just swap them over? Or are they LED fittings? JCC LED strip fluorescents are good, easy to instal and all are dimmable

Advice wanted - unhappy with rewire

I’ve not said the regs demand it, but as I said to another, in my opinion it should be done and shows a lack of professionalism and personal pride leaving the cables like that. It does protect them to during plastering and just feels (in my humble opinion) more professional

I think it’s laziness and should be done. In my humble opinion it shows a lack of professionalism and personal pride.
