Thanks for replying, but I’m a little confused:
are the readily available NHX prefixed MCBs compatible with the older NSB on the same busbar/in the same enclosure?
TIA
A builder friend introduced me to screwshop.co.uk a couple of years ago; I haven’t bought CSK wood screws or red plugs anywhere else since. I do like the Orbix screws though. The CEF web site had some good prices on tubs of them recently.
A client has a Wylex NHRS RCD main switch CU with MCBs prefixed NSB. I don’t use or see a lot of Wylex kit; are the newer NHXL prefixed MCBs compatible with this ’board?
I used a Nissan Navarra for 30 months to work out of and the more I used it, the more I hated it. I didn’t mean to roll it in the snow (and I lost a packet on it) but I was much happier working out of a Peugeot Expert for the next 5 years whilst I paid it off.
We did a job in Kensington years ago and I spent longer moving the van and feeding meters than I did working. Still managed to pick up two tickets, from the same “attendant” who was cycling round the same patch. After the second one I asked him if that meant I could just stay there and he said...
Forgive my stupidity please Charlie, but are you agreeing with, or questioning, Alban Moffitt’s assertion that Cat5 run in duct alongside SWA @230V must have insulation rated “to the same as voltage as power”?
I always use a torque driver to tighten to the upper limit of the manufacturers tabulated Nm for the specific terminal.
I use the same brand of RCBO board most of the time so it’s not tricky to remember, and if I go ever go too far above it the accessory usually shows some sign of damage pretty...
Late to the party as ever....
OP, if you’re still looking for opinions, I have to thank you for mentioning SBS. I’d never heard of them before. I’ve been banging on for a while that a neutral bus bar adjacent to the line bus bar is surely the way forward. So good for you. And if I were your...
My local CEF showed me the full range of Klein hand tools and to be fair it was massive. They chose to introduce to the UK market the huge pliers first, which was probably a mistake as every CEF I’ve been in since has loads of them gathering dust. I found some small needle nose pliers and some...
Might be a little behind the curve here, but is it a Type AC RCD/RCBO, and is it worth trying a Type A instead?
Just a thought. Bash me if I’m being silly.
I have to agree here. I’m not at all a fan of RFCs, but there are circumstances where it makes more sense to use one instead of a radial. And I also agree that one 16A or 20A radial Circuit for general use Sockets per Floor is plenty for the average dwelling.
I’ve used the switches from “ Switch To Wood” as mentioned above. Really rather good, but really rather expensive too. In the right house they’re the mutts nuts.
