Sorry for back tracking a little, but personally I’d be planning to put the space heating onto separate circuits from the general power outlets, even if they are connected via plug tops.
FWIW I’m very happy with my local Eddies. Good level of stock, reasonable pricing, fantastic delivery service and most importantly CONSISTENT!
I also use a local independent who are always helpful if less competitive and don’t deliver (not usefully enough to me anyway) and Poofix (the name says...
Unfortunately this seems to be the attitude in many a wholesaler.
Often they are staffed with poorly trained staff with little product knowledge and even less customer-facing skills. I still find I’m shocked by the appalling level of service in some places, particularly if it’s one I’m not...
I’ll get my tin hat too;
If the flying earth leads won’t behave I use a large DIN rail earth terminal for them, and linked it through to the earth bar as necessary.
I’ve been using a Snicker tool tote for the past 4 years. It’s looking a bit rough now but is still going strong. I balked at the price tag (£130 then) but it’s proved it’s worth time and again. My previous CK Magma tote (the one with the lid and removable handle) was the second that had lasted...
Really to sorry to hear of your recent losses. I've lost kit myself in similar circumstances. Made me want to kick some tw**ts head in.
I use Wera & Klein screwdrivers, Knipex snips & pliers and Bahco for practically everything else. Power tools I use Milwaukee.
I hope you manage to get decent...
Would be my best case scenario too, if budget & circumstances allow.
If the 25mm/16mm tail kit is in place (and there will be suitable DP switched fuse after the meter) I don't see a problem.
IN reverse..
`I don't think that I can, it's just that it seems like it should be. I know that isn't really the correct approach, after all this is science, not art. This is why I'm asking. I haven't had the opportunity to discuss this with client yet either. TBH I'm inclined to agree with both...
Carried out an EICR in a domestic property today.
Client has recently purchased but not moved in, so place is empty. It's a detached bungalow, 2 beds, Gas-fired system boiler, detached garage.
There are 7 (yes 7) socket outlet circuits, all either B16A or B20A, each with no more than 6...
Click Mode is the easy way out here. Even if the client wants a decorative finish that can be catered for. I don't think many other manufacturers do this; certainly not MK or Crabtree.
1) I agree with the early post - never trust a third party with this aspect of the installation. It doesn't matter how good we are as installers if the supply is f****d.
2) I'd be inclined (if there really is no possibility of adding an additional Main earth to take advantage of the PME...
