Prysmian Cable In a Box cr!p

I find the folding cable holder (with the croc clips) a bit unwieldy so only get it out when I need to pull multiple cables. Anyone know off a good single drum cable holder? (or suggestions for a good design when I get time to put one together)

Grounding a Wall Mounted Data Cabinet

Whenever we installed wall mounted data cabinets we requested (from the electrical contractor) a dedicated spur to a twin 13 amp socket mounted above or to the side of the cabinet position with a 6mm bonding cable from the nearest board. (We'd indicate the required position by the use of a...

Why neutral? (And why 20 characters in a thread title)?

Once upon a time... (before the days of moulded plugs) when I worked as a TV/Video Tech. when checking the plug connections on equipment with intermittent power, it was invariably the neutral that was loose.

Broadband to garden office: a tale of moving master BT sockets, WiFi woes and long ethernet cables

I would look into using powerline adapters (sometimes known as Homeplugs HomePlug - Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HomePlug) Especially if the power to the garden office is on the same phase as the rest of the house. I've successfully used them up to 90 odd meters. It's worth the...

    Query with a couple regs

When using similar 3 compartment trunking we used to run the data in the top compartment (and drop down into the outlets)with the power in the middle and leave the bottom for the telephone (when not using the data cabling for the phones). Here's a link to a .pdf file that gives further...

Max Zs and (0.8) rule of thumb

Hi, it's to compensate for the temperature of the cable when it's being measured. The BYB tables are max Zs of the cable when under load. I'm sure someone else will be able to provide the "full" explanation. :-) It must be a typing race at this time of night - beaten to it..........
