    EV charger causing ground overheating

There is no Annex Zb derogation within I.S. EN 61439 so no conditional short-circuit rating for type tested units etc. so there is no prohibition on that. Of course this is assuming that it had been connected correctly e.g. supplied with tri-rated panel flex outer something similar.

    MK 5780s replacement

A charge point should not be sharing an RCD. It needs to be dedicated.

Notifying DNO for first EV install

I don't doubt for a second that many/most installs aren't notified. Apologies if you thought I was trying to imply otherwise.

Notifying DNO for first EV install

Yes, but they still need to know how many are in use in the area in order to ensure that the infrastructure is capable. It's not like every installation drawing 60A/phase is no problem for the DNO.

Notifying DNO for first EV install

    Yes it's legally required.

Notifying DNO for first EV install

You must "Apply to Connect" if the maximum demand is above 60A/phase. If it doesn't exceed 60A/phase then you can use the "Connect & Notify". When I have needed to "Apply to Connect" there has been no real hassle dealing with the DNO here. Can't comment on other DNOs though.

    Worst connector ever invented

As above, in fairness to them all of the Next luminaires I've come across have been good and well designed.

Why do i need a rewire when i've passed inspection with no issues?

I believe there is a specific job title for people who mate for money ;-)

Why do i need a rewire when i've passed inspection with no issues?

It's not a Report. It's merely a certificate for replacement of the DB only, so the OP appears to be misunderstanding what it is stating. It relates only to the work carried out and does not declare that the installation is fine.

UK Can you add additional sockets to non RCD protected circuits via RCD spurs or sockets?

When I've carried out inspections on them in the past I would have to say that that's not my experience of them. I'd well believe the old Bill rewireable fuse boxes being there.

    De-rating a ring circuit

I'd second that. He's a very silly boy (for want of using terms I'd prefer to describe him).

I've never yet come across PAT Testing of an EVSE.

    3 phase RCD question

Anything above 15mA up to 30mA meets the Standard for a nominally 30mA RCD.

Best/ most useful charge points on the market

There is currently an issue between Easee and the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority, with the potential for a sales ban in Sweden.

Difference between 1p+N and double pole RCD

Not really relevant with an RCCB. If it were an RCBO then it would lack overcurrent protection in the neutral pole, but an RCCB doesn't provide overcurrent protection anyway.

Best/ most useful charge points on the market

PEN fault detection and disconnection is incorporated into the Zappi. Same with Project EV (at least if it has PME in the model number). Don't forget manufacturer's declaration of conformity.

    Welding equipment - DNO permission?

Cheers all. Seems that it may not be still a requirement after all (or at least not a widely known one!)

    Welding equipment - DNO permission?

Does anyone know whether it's still the case that if a customer wishes to have a supply installed for a welder in their home that they need specific permission from the DNO? Struggling to find an answer on Google.

    Circuit numbering confusion?

Ironically, his insistence on how single phase boards should be numbered, i.e. not based on position of main switch, contradicts his system for TPN in that the single phase won't keep the same position in a bigger board if you number from the other side.
