    Help with EICR codes!!

So it's likely that the 2 T+E ends in the DB join L to L and N to N onto singles, but the CPCs connect to the metal conduit,(this is all hidden somewhere) then the CPC is taken off every back box to connect to the socket. Is this acceptable?? Obviously I can't get R1R2 off this so would I take...

    Help with EICR codes!!

Evening..I'm after a bit of advice coding an EICR I have done today, I don't do an abundance of them so just a bit unsure. 1. 3 sockets spurring of a ring without a fused spur. 2. Evidence that ring cables had been joined behind the DB, the L & N end to ends gave me the results I was looking...

    Explaining RCBO's, SPD's, AFDD's etc to customers

Evening.. Just wondering if anyone has any links to an explanation of the above that a customer could understand, I'm getting a bit peed off trying to explain the benefits only to get a look back as if to say 'why is this salesman trying to rip me off'? Cheers

Band 1 cabling covered by BS7671

No, just the metal fixing side of things. 1584649179 I know why you use metal fixings I wasn't asking that, I was just asking if ELV was covered by BS7671

Band 1 cabling covered by BS7671

Hi All Just wondering if the installion method of band 1 cabling is covered by BS7671? I'm pretty sure it isn't but just been told that alarm conduits have to be secured with metal fixings. Just need to find some evidence in the regs to support this. Cheers

Consumer unit installed on it's side.

I have just rang CED and they say there's nothing on the manufacturers instructions which says you can't install them vertically, but it doesn't say you can either.

    Earth/Neutral fault..Help Needed!!

How does this explain disconnecting the neutral tail coming out of the meter and the board still being live across L-N? And no not using multimeter, checked it with both my multifunction tester and voltage testers.

    Earth/Neutral fault..Help Needed!!

No, the 2 neutrals of my ring circuit were disconnected and I was reading 190v between each leg and incoming live. 1571767195 ...and yes I had it live with the cover off if that's what you are referring to.

Probably going to get slated for not knowing/doing something wrong but here goes!! So, been asked to do a board change for a customer, when I turned up they explained that had had a new PME done a few weeks ago, when I mentioned that their house wasn't earthed the customer said that the...

Zs reading with main earth disconnected

So to answer why I had the circuit energised with the main earthing disconnected.. The lighting circuit connected in board had no CPC so I checked the Zs at a ceiling rose. I had a reading of 2.2 ohms so I then tried to find out where the earth was coming from. I disconnected all the CPC's...
