    It's still available, but commercial stations won't embrace it, they don't want to open up the airspace to competition. DAB is easier for niche radio stations to operate on.

    DAB radio has been a failure in Ireland. Due to the lack of uptake the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland are considering scrapping it.

    That's a crazy mentality I work in a manufacturing environment. The UK is too small to source exact components from. The lack of labour I wouldn't worry about, any factory worth it's salt is getting into automation. You need access to the full eu marketplace.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_electricity_crisis?wprov=sfla1 You're probably right. I was aware they had a mixture of a DC and AC supply. I was pondering in my own mind if the DC was connected to the AC and causing a short. But unless the OP is in Gaza, it is very unlikely.

    AC. You know it's very unlikely that any of the wires are DC. I know that in Gaza due to their current situation, they have rudimentary DC systems rigged up of banks of car batteries etc. But if you're on the grid all the wires will be AC.
