I have the same problem with the megger leads and my socket adaptor, if i turn them round and put the shrouded end into the tester its works, might work for the light mates as well I've never tried
I would check the socket that the power supply unit is plugged into is working. Try plug something else in see if it works. Could just be a coincidence that the psu has packed up while your electrician was round.
That's a shared neutral. If theres an up stairs and down stairs lighting circuit. Commonly how it used to be done. And can be dangerous if you dont know it's there.
Take a permanent live and neutral to the receiver. Link the second L in the reciever to terminal A. Then terminal B to Lr in boiler.
Remove the link in the boiler

Most brands do compact rcbos now, with no functional earth. Bg is ok for a budget, but I would rather use hager or wylex. They look a bit more professional imo
I usually do 2 sets a year. They get used all day every day. And when one breaks I replace the lot. Due a new set now. Probably go for wera this time round
Warm white all day long in my opinion, cool white feels like your at the dentist. And for that size kitchen , without seeing it I would guess 10 would be plenty.
Why dont you use the job as an example to to niceic or napit, and use it to get your self registered. Then you dont get the same problem in the future.
