I fell into being an electrician after making a mess of everything as a lad, not getting my violin out but it was rough! I think the key is to encourage your kids to do whatever they want, it's our jobs to arm them with the knowledge of what's a decent job and what isn't!!
I've got you on that dude, but it's the neutral side of the coil that goes to the start button, I understand this on ELV and such but haven't seen it done on 230v, maybe it's just me and my sheltered life so far though!!
The company we use for commissioning our addressable installs and Vesdas charge a fortune for a day, but I guess a fraction of that will be paid the the engineer on site.
He first and most important thing I have to say is make sure you get your apprenticeship completed, the time will fly by mate, then you will be able to make a more educated decision. I've always fancied the PLC side, I just need to make an inroads while I'm young enough!!
Evening folks, looking at doing the 2396 course to broaden my horizons a bit! I'm aware it's no small undertaking due to the project, but was wondering what would be the logical step to take afterwards? Just so I can look into it and have a look.

Get them to take the blue protective film off a bit before nipping it with anything like joiners and sockets, it's a pain in the arse to take off afterwards!
