We have had problems with ours down the line, depends what kind of environment it will be working in and what kind of mileage it will be doing. I think Transits are bomb proof and swear by them. Only my opinion though!
Why would a water heater have to run via the BMS? Is it being taken for granted that it does, or it did? If the contactor is isolating the Live and Neutral I'd be tempted to do a continuity check on them, to confirm if they are the correct wires. The switch on the panel maybe from a PLC, so...
If it's in your own property, I'd strip it out again and join it all together, making it look neater. If not and you make your own bubble set, with you not doing much conduit, have a few bashes at it first and don't be worried about throwing an earlier attempt away, there's an interesting...
Surely the connections cannot be any different to what the people above have said, was it rated correctly for the working voltage and current of the motor? Chin up mate!
Don't they usually come with two different pairs of mounting brackets? One where the light points to the worktop and one where the light will be pointed towards the wall behind, rotating the fitting 90 degrees and throwing less light out, in effect. Especially with granite worktops, they light...
I'd walk away, regardless of weather on not you have agreed about joints and things like that, if someone follows you onto the job and asks the customer who did it, and they say you, they will not go into depth about how you walked around every point and tried your best to be conscientious...
Whenever I see soffit lights that have been fitted for a while they always seem to look grubby, a swine to clean etc etc, much prefer those wall mounted spots that wash the wall upwards and downwards. If it's a new house it may be worth checking that no warranties are voided due to the drilling...
I have had this problem before at a large car park in Leeds, following on from other people who were working to a terrible standard also, things disconnected all over the show. I asked the question about getting civils involved to trace things, but was knocked back on the fact the client didn't...
I have seen a main switch go due to the terminals in the cutout not being as tight as they should be, DNO came and rectified the fault, I got a head shake for cutting the seal.
I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem with your distribution board, or your protective devices (MCB/RCBO) I think they will be doing their job and it will be a problem with the sun beds or associated wiring.
If it was the neutral from the fitting itself that had come loose and touched the casing then wouldn't it become live due to losing its neutral connection?
Yes Risteard, they are the bleeders! Yellow cards on jobs make me laugh though, site managers come down on us like a ton of bricks but let the dryliners and boarders get away with murder because they need the job pushing on!
